I am a 40yo male diagnosed with level 1 autism but my therapist thinks it’s Aspergers I agree. I have trouble in conversations with my short-term memory and if I am stressed I don’t seem to be able to listen to anything even if I am focused on the speaker. I’ve listened to recordings of myself when ... |

Buy moissonite ring(s). Synthetic diamonds at a fraction of the cost for a giant rock. My partner suggested this. |

Thanks for your reply - curious if there are other examples besides eye contact |

We have tried therapists with no knowledge of autism and the results have been terrifying. We don’t need couple counseling - I need to stop the behavior. |

That’s a really helpful response. That’s what happens to me - going blank - sometimes it doesn’t make sense to me why the present-day me would say or do it since it’s so anathema or illogical. Sometimes I can explain why but that’s not usual. When I go blank and can’t talk my partner calls it out as... |

What are some things to say to comfort someone or focus on their feelings? |

To your questions, yes she has very good reasons - namely emotional betrayals and unbelievably sh***y behavior brought on by the cult-like family I was raised in. I didn’t come to terms with my parents and siblings being so toxic until recently even though my partner pointed this out to me for YEARS... |

Try listening or reading The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F***” by Mark Manson. Depends what you want from the relationship and don’t listen to me as I’m horrible at relationships but the reasons you listed are red flags. You are probably too good for him. he kinda rushed me towards things I wasnt rea... |

I am married with ASD to an NT for a long time. Almost all the time whenever she asks me questions from the our past and ask why I did things that hurt her, I lock up and can't answer. Or I stutter, or I do evasive behaviors. I even sometimes lie, to try and appease her - which doesn't work. And und... |

This happened to me with many women my whole life, especially HS and college. I would like someone and then, well almost never, ask them out. I had no idea I had ASD, I just thought I was shy. I met the love of my life and knew her for 6 months in a professional capacity. I thought the world of her.... |
