I agree, OP. I have decided that the only thing to do about it is to make sure I do not participate in or support cruelty: Vegan Only use cruelty-free makeup and cleaning products No leather, silk or fur unless 2nd hand Don't purchase animals from breeders etc... If enough people would refuse to par...

What I agree with is that effort should be applied to understanding fully why that is causing such an intense degree of distress about that one thing. There could well be a lot of things involved or connected to it beyond the simple thing of not having had a girlfriend. Things about personal worth....

Ideally, it would not bother him as much, and he would be able to see the beauty in other areas of life as you do. But I don't think your friend is at that point. Better to try commiserating with him. Talk to him, let him express himself without trying to convince him he is wrong. Instead, talk to h...

I can SO relate to what you are feeling! You do all of this work to be qualified for an awesome job, but then you have to contend with interviews to prove that you can do the job. It is a lot of pressure. I feel paralysed. I don't want to prepare for the interview, I'd rather send a thousand other j...

That sounds like a lot to deal with. To echo what Mona Perith said, most retail places I have worked had procedures in place to lessen the chances of forgetting a step. Perhaps the next time your manager puts you in charge you could ask for a checklist of duties? It is good practice in general for t...

There's probably more to the story that we don't know. Will Smith and Chris Rock have likely known each other for decades, both being in HW comedy world. This may not be the first time Will and Jada have had to deal with his sadistic humor. That joke was not only malicious, but Chris Rock seemed to ...

Great blog posts, OP! I feel very ambivalent about agile methodologies. I've worked in roughly equal waterfall / agile projects. I think that a lot of developers and managers don't do their research about when to use which method, or how to successfully run an agile project. Often, they just concent...

This may be a bit off topic, but some ASD people are able to cultivate a personality “style” that complements their natural ASD traits. The prime example of this is Andy Warhol. Check out a documentary about him and see how he transformed himself from an over-eager, unattractive loser who everyone ...

Hello OP. I think I understand what you are saying. You obsess over small flaws similar to the Intel worldview. You might find a YouTube video by ContraPoints called “Incels” useful for understanding this phenomena in yourself. The YouTuber delves deep into the psychology of this worldview. (Forgiv...

I know exactly what you mean, OP. Try to be gentle on yourself. You aren’t to blame. You are a good person, and deserve the best.

When you are feeling better you can apply your problem solving skills to come up with solutions.

This book completely changed my interview game. It worked so well for my autistic brain because it breaks down the interview into concrete steps, like a step by step manual. Focusing on non verbal communication. I went from doing terrible to excelling. The first 60 seconds. https://books.google.ca/b...

I’ve had similar things happen to me. Once, one of my best friends ghosted me when she got a boyfriend. Then about a year later after they broke up we reconnected. She told me that she was jealous of me and that she didn’t want me around her bf. I only met him once and she didn’t think I was flirtin...

It takes time to develop healthy habits. It’s worthwhile making it your focus, IMO. Health is really important factor in happiness, and if you are sedentary and have poor nutrition, things will only get worse. It’s not going to be easy. My ex boyfriend was over 300 pounds and lost 100 pounds in a ye...

I assume that they just enjoyed talking to me and had no romantic feelings for me at all. But, who knows? Did you ever make a direct move on them? If not it's possible they assumed you just enjoyed talking to them & had no romantic feelings towards them. This notion that the guy should make the...
