3. Apprehensive about things going on in my life. I need to leave school to take a job, I'm hoping I can keep this one as I won't have money for school much longer and my credit is shot so no loans for me--and no degree either. I've made alot of bad decisions that led me to where I am now, now I jus... |

...or so they would tell me. I feel increasingly backed into a corner and desperate. I want to live my life as I think I should: go to school, get a degree, get a job, etc. Nothing risque or unusual. However I feel like I'm being watched, like every thing I say has been recorded for playback through... |

I have alot of difficulty understanding friendships too. After feeling used because I was 'needed' I decided a friend was someone you wanted to spend time with, not someone you needed. I'm not sure that is a good definition, but its one I've had for a few years. It hasn't gotten me or kept me any fr... |

I once brought this up with a psychologist I used to go to. He said that it is, after all, rough to show people that they've all been, as he put it, cut by the same sausage-making machine and that I did so accidentally with my choices, opinons, body language. . . Being mediocre is the bane of most ... |

I do understand your perspective. Of course, no one has the right to look down at someone else for being different. But aren't you also looking down at them for being different from you? I can see where you would get this as I didn't articulate myself well here. If they're happy being vanilla, grea... |

Something more like sugar frosted, fluffy or 'lite'?
I like vanilla too, esp. in ice cream. It's just a term I use to describe alot of plain stuff. If you're more comfortable with NT, then that's cool. You don't have to use my terms. |

I'm of the opinion that vanillas (NTs) social interaction revolves around appearance and fakeness rather than form and substance. I remember growing up, knowing what the UN was, who the Soviet Union was, and what MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) was all about. I also remember being very confused w... |

I haven't done the experiment, but what I have observed is the same. I despise girls that go for jerks (at some level, they deserve each other), and the girls looking for a nice man are all taken. Well I don't resent women for it. It's biological wiring, an alpha male thing. While the thing that ma... |

Some good stuff in this thread, esp. about stereotypes. The other thing is that relationships really need work and effort. People have bad days, bad months, etc, and sometimes people under stressful situations have some personality changes. Jerk hasn't been defined, but I'm quite sure it has as many... |

Not all women, but a vast majority. When I first went to school, I did an experiment. I did what I could to be a real jerk, make fun of girls, etc. I did the adult equivalent of grade school hair-pulling, glue-stealing, and shin-kicking, of course without the physical violence. I had chicks falling ... |

Hi everyone. I was just recently diagnosed as an aspie (I'm 30), and in the intervening time I've carried nearly every other aspie-misdiagnoses possible. Aspie seems to fit, in terms of all the puzzle pieces that never fit in the other labels I was labeled. I'm not sure I belong here, in this forum/... |
