A gun is just a tool like a hammer or a car. These are all things that can make life easier if used wisely by responsible people and they can kill if used badly. Negligence, laziness, stupidity, selfishness, too much pride, not enough self-control, and many other bad qualities that are common in peo... |

I'm a guy so maybe this thread is not for for me but I started shaving my legs a few years ago just out of curiosity. My parents were a bit concerned at first but they got over it. It seems people expect me to have a shaved face and hairy legs. But I would rather have a hairy face and shaved legs. I... |

If you want to learn about AI, there is a YouTube channel called Two Minute Papers. The guy from the videos will tell you about the latest in AI and even show demos. If you are writing a book and want to know about real AI then do some research by watching a few videos. |

I can relate to this. I was just diagnosed about a year ago at 44 y/o and while I knew that I had definite autistic traits I kept thinking that the psychologist would see right through me and somehow know that I was too "normal" to have autism. Turns out that I have ASD level 1 and this wa... |

Putting sound absorbing acoustic foam panels over the window can help reduce noises from outside. You could also try putting some of these on your bedroom walls. People with home recording studios like them to reduce the noise when recording music but they can also make things more quiet for sleepin... |

I've noticed that in many of the pictures people have taken of me that my eyes are half closed. Usually, I have a goofy look on my face also. My advice is to not worry about it. In our minds eye we see ourselves as looking a certain way but this in not necessarily based on reality. The same can be s... |

The big difference is that I understand why I am the way I am. I can be more forgiving of myself now. Because of the social deficits, I understand why making friends is so hard. Because of the alexithymia, I don't feel loneliness so much. This helps me understand why I like being alone so much. Beca... |

I'm disabled & on Social Security Disability & would really like & kinda need some extra income. There is a limit to how much I can earn & still keep my benefits. People sometimes have limits with how much they can work for various reasons. I would suggest that you be honest about y... |

I have ASD level 1 and I've been on both sides of the interview many times - as the one being interviewed and as the one doing the interview. I have some thoughts on this topic... First, and MOST importantly, you must be interested or even excited about the position that you are interviewing for. Le... |

I have alexithymia so I'm sure I'm missing quite a few emotions. The ones I feel are usually too vague to identify. If I feel anything, it is normally good, bad, or angry at some intensity between barely noticeable to overwhelming. Most of the time I feel "fine" but that was not even liste... |

I tend to be overly verbose sometimes but anyway here's what I imagine that it's like for me to have autism. I live in my own little world by myself but I don't get lonely much. I prefer to be by myself because my world makes more sense when I'm by myself. Maybe this is lonely but it is also comfort... |

I have a memory from when I was 2 or maybe 3 years old. I know I was this young because in the memory I was still in diapers and I think I was wearing a yellow shirt. We were visiting a friend of my parents who lived in a split level home. This was probably the first time I had ever seen a house wit... |

I was just diagnosed last year. I had come to a point in my life where I was trying to understand myself and some of my oddities better. There are things like motor tics, tactile over-sensitivity, social cluelessness and other things that I wanted an answer to. Also, the big realization that I have ... |

I can relate to this. Many people want to do things on the spur of the moment and I like my well planned out routine so it's hard for me to go along even when they do invite me. Then when I decide to actually go along, nobody gets the things I'm interested in so I listen to all their conversations n... |

I am also really bad at planning out anything. After an initial rough patch, my career has been really good for the past 15 years or so but this is not from any planning at all on my part. I have always hated the question "Where do you see yourself in 5 years?". It just happened to be that... |
