Silly questions like: "I have difficulty figuring out cultural and social rules." and "I don't realise when other people are bored by a conversation." If you have problems in these areas you are unlikely to see it and therefore can't answer the questions. It's a good point - but on the flip side, i... |

Thanks for that - Good to know there's a few more Brisbanites around, too... *grins* |

Hi all! I'm the writer of the test - sounds like it's gotten a lot of mixed reactions... *grins* Just to clear up a few of the points raised: * With the scoring, the test is designed to give someone who meets all three criteria a very high score, and someone who does not meet any of the criteria a v... |

Hi all, I'm the guy who wrote the test - sorry about the downtime, apparently facebook changed all the app settings around, which meant that it kept trying and failing to recognise a session (hence the constant reloading). Looks like it's all working fine again now... |

But I don't see anything wrong with discussing these issues. I personally believe they are valid issues (and on the other side of things, there are many benefits to being married to a person with AS). I would think that being married to a person with AS could certainly be very traumatic in some way... |

I don't know anything about the "Cassandra" thing..... Neither would most of the people who are likely to receive these flyers, even the name of Tony Attwood is not very well known outside of the autistic community. I really don't see the point to this. Because people whose partners have recently b... |

Why is FAAAS considered a hate group? For publishing numerous anti-autistic ideals, essays, and emotional hyperbole - including (but not limited to): * The invention and promotion of the concept of CADD (the idea that being in a relationship with an autistic adult causes a person to develop depress... |

Modeling aside, does anyone know what Heather's been up to in recent times? I think the measure of an autistic spokesperson is the the things they say and do towards either helping with public acceptance of autistic people, or furthering the development of the autistic community. As such, I consider... |

Petitions are useless. I've seen all of them fail, and petitions are just the worst way to go about things. If you want to do something, CONFRONT. Making an online petition will be scoffed at and just made fun of. I completely agree - the petition on its own wouldn't do very much, if anything. Fort... |

What I do consider as an issue is the consequences of the petition, will Ari and his disciples go after every academic that has the temerity to associate with people that he doesn't approve of; or are simply wrong about certain things. My main concern is that Ari is devoting his energy to attacking... |

Zak, I have read the petition and Ari's response to Attwoods response. The response is rather telling as its an indicates that it is starting to get personal. So Tony didn't do what Ari asked him to do, so what Ari doesn't have the right to pick his friends. This petition is about Ari dictating to ... |

I'm not sure if Attwood has done anything to deserve this, well apart from being friends with people Ari doesn't like and in truth I don't like FAAAS myself, but thats no reason to go off on the deep end. Attwood is in effect being smeared by association, he doesn't believe in the CAAD diagnostic c... |

Alright, here's a question for you. Which do you view as superior: a Rhesus Monkey, a Neandertal, or a Human? None of the above - the word "superior" hasn't been qualified. There's simply no such thing as "general betterness". If you were talking toolmaking ability, then it's a human. If you were t... |

It really bugs me that the idea of creating an autistic community is being linked to the Aspie Superiority movement - one does not follow the other. As such, I'll address the two things separately. Firstly, the superiority idea is crap. For starters, if we were just looking at it on a skill-for-skil... |

I think it's great that this issue is being argued so passionately - after all, it's quite an important situation, and one that has quite a lot of ramifications for the way autistic groups interact with professionals in the future. That said, there's a line when passionate argument just becomes a fl... |

I would like to ask a question with out placing myself in the line of fire, but I don't know you, Evil Zak, but who are you in the scheme of things? I mean, I am an Aspie and a moderator on a web forum and that is my resume for Autism/Asperger's Syndrome. My opinion of who Tony Attwood is and what ... |
