I considered this. But mom would figuratively kill me for it. She hates chaos. Needs everything tidy... It would magically change back to tidy now even if I'd mess it up, I think. It's been all chaotic for months now though. I decided upon trying. There's no real choice. If it comes to a clothes wa...

Dear you,
You know who you are.
There's something I'd like to say,
Something I've already written,
but I'm not entirely sure how it would be received,
so I can't decide whether I should post it here,

or just tell you.

Several English professors have told me that I should be an English major, though I don't really see what they're talking about. I like my math :D

For example: The word "Atheist". In vernacular, everyday speech, most people interpret the word to refer to a person who believes that there is no god (i.e. a belief, or assertion, of a negative), whereas almost every writer, philosopher, etc. who calls him/her self an "Atheist", actually holds clo...

Technically: yes. When talking to the average person, I'd say: no. Vernacular speech often differs from the specialized mini-languages that develop in certain subcultures or highly specialized academic fields. For example: The word "Atheist". In vernacular, everyday speech, most people interpret the...

You did absolutely nothing wrong. You said he was older, which was true. He might say that "what you said carried a connotation that he was 'old'" -- but HE inserted that connotation himself. It's not our inability to understand the connotations of what we say, it's their fallacy of inserting those ...

I think in monologue. I talk silently to myself in lonely soliloquy. Here's a quick glimpse into my world. I love people. I hate people. I love people. They say that people with Asperger's have no desire for social interaction. Ludicrous! Oh, to be sure -- I cherish and require plenty of alone time ...

I had the exact same problem! It's supposed to be one of the greatest films ever made, but it completely failed to interest me in any way. However, it may have been because I also have an extreme aversion to and lack of respect/tolerance for organizations that adhere mindlessly to tradition, so all ...
