I'm not asking this to be in any way controversial or confrontational, but it seems to me as though there is a kind of taboo around this particular topic, and I want to know why. Apparently, it isn't "nice" to hate the very people who for most of our lives deliberately went out of their wa... |

I have to confess to not being here for the first time. I just now re-joined 'Wrong Planet' after closing an old account and being absent from this place for about the last 12 years. I don't recall under what name I was here before, but I thought it best to use my real name this time around (it keep... |

There are times when I do (which is most of the time), but then there are times when I observe NT's in the wild, and I think, "Thank GOD I'm not one of those people!" |

I recognise facial expressions, but the problem is that quite often the expressions shown don't actually mean what we've all been led to believe they mean. For example, a smile may not necessarily mean the person is happy to see you; they may be trying to lull you into a false sense of security, of ... |

Yes, we need to reintroduce the old categories, like 'Asperger's Syndrome'. I don't like being called "autistic" at all; I'm not my condition, I'm not mentally handicapped, but the word "autism" has all of those very negative connotations attached to it. |

The only time I have ever acted aggressively towards anyone was in self-defence, when the other person thought that it might be "funny" to gaslight, patronise or in some other fashion demean me. I don't tolerate bad behaviour, from anyone, and others shouldn't expect me to put up with abuse. |

Why? It's the differences between the two that make all the difference, that make people more interesting and less predictable. |

a) Having Asperger's Syndrome is something I wish not to have, because it's nothing but a great big pain in the ass, with absolutely NO advantages whatsoever. b) I also do not believe AS/autism is a so-called spectrum; either you have it or you don't, there are no other options. c) Politics is for s... |
