My previous church was a baptist church. The pastor's grandson is autistic and so is another well known child in the church body. I was very vocal when I was diagnosed with autism and they all accepted me as I was. I had been attending for a solid decade by that point and had been very active in the... |

What T does to you is largely determined by genetics to my understanding. I define myself as non-binary but am considering possibly taking T in the future and am probably some degree of transmasculine. My sister is MTF. If it helps, not all male bodied people get a deep voice. My sister before her t... |

It shouldn't. Just because I believe an afterlife exists doesn't mean that I don't have a responsibility to make this world a better place in what ways I can. Anyone who actually studies the Bible would see that it has plenty to say about living in this world. A lot of people are "devout" ... |

Is it the brush that's a sensory issue? Doesn't sound like it's the toothpaste. When I was a kid I needed the bubblegum flavored toothepaste because mint was too strong. |

Meds are so much trial and error and it can take time to see if they work (sometimes up to 2 months), or if you might need a different dose or a different med or a combination of meds. |

How to ADHD on YouTube has some fantastic resources.
I also spent a pretty penny recently on the Anti Planner by Dani Donovan. The actual one costs like $60... but it's worth. Has lots of strategies for combatting executive dysfunction that comes with ADHD. |

I saw an autism-adjacent page on FB mention jealousy being sometimes stronger in those who are neurodivergent. Is this the case with you guys? I do find that I can get very very jealous over my friends spending time with others and not with me. I've always suppressed it cuz I'm not an as*hole. But t... |

I see no problem with having it on a Medical Alert bracelet but has anyone seen an actual in-real-life benefit of doing that? I've told medical providers in-advance of my diagnosis and given them a copy of AASPIRE 's Healthcare Toolkit " How Autism Can Affect Healthcare ". So far, I don't... |

My hypothesis is that what people see as vaccines causing autism (it so clearly is genetic) is that autistic traits get more intense when under stress... such as having an adverse reaction to a vaccine. |

If I were to comment on anything further, it's that mindfulness is mainly useful for cognitive stuff. And yes, it can help with autism. A course I took recently for autistic people also talked about this. A lot of ASD is cognitive, and we do have high rates of anxiety and depression as secondary, ga... |

My experience, I didn't consider my ASD and cluster of mental and chronic physical stuff to all add up to a legit disability until it began to affect my job to the point I had to quit, had no choice. And looking at my life for things like how executive dysfunction affect me to the point that I need ... |
