On some DVDs and Blu-Rays, you can't really skip the ads that play automatically at the start. I just watched a bit of "Race", and you are prohibited from bypassing the ads with the menu button. You have to repeatedly press the "skip" button just to get to the main menu. And the...

There's also the issue of unskippable ads, which is not only an issue on streaming, but also on physical media. On some DVDs and Blu-Rays, you can't really skip the ads that play automatically at the start. I just watched a bit of "Race", and you are prohibited from bypassing the ads with ...

Also, there's the cost to actually buy the Blu-Ray, DVD, etc. Streaming something may be about, say, $10 to $20 a month, but physical media can cost upwards of, say, $25. Even more if it's out of print. I for one am still looking for the complete set of "Pee-wee's Playhouse" on Blu-Ray for...

I have brought up the issue of physical media versus streaming before, but everyone keeps talking about how, with physical media, you own something forever. But while it's true that physical media gives you a sense of ownership, it comes with its own drawbacks, which I think are just as important as...

I always prefer to speak to people in person instead of call them over the phone because I have to put up with the automated system and then having to wait for long periods of time. Where I work I have a very limited amount of time to get in touch with someone before going back to work, about 15 min...

Hmm. I guess they used video sell videos. I think I've played maybe one video disk in the last decade or so. I still have a bunch of dvds, but no optical drive player of any kind anymore. Forgot they put video ads to sell more dvds - but what I was sure of was that they don't put commercials for pr...

I hear you will need to sit through ads on a streaming service if you pay a low-price tier. But doesn't a Blu-Ray or DVD have ads, too? No. The only ads might have been print ads that came with the packaging trying to sell another DVD or something Maybe. But there are no commercials on DVD's/blu-ra...

eBay can be useful for buying items at a cheaper price than competitors. Or more expensive, especially if it's out of print. You can often buy items new and as others have mentioned for a 'buy it now' price which is just a regular, straight forward sale without any bidding. When I look at eBay, I s...

Isn't eBay supposed to be for auctions? Where it's a gamble to buy something?

I'm feeling very upset, for a variety of reasons, two of them being A) it's hot out and B) they're removing content on Disney Plus, as a cost-cutting measure. I've heard that Disney Plus may not last much longer at all.

Why are you asking? An "opposite" would have to be an (a) an actual extant expression that is frequently used- in order to be in the same category as "TGTBT" . No one ever says "its too bad to be true". And(b) it has to apply to real life in some way that mirrors "...

I hate buying tickets for events in advance because it means that I must commit to that event no matter what, even if something comes up that competes for my attention.
