DBT specifically deals with people who sometimes conflict with the therapist. Don’t forget therapist are people too - they have flaws. I just started a DBT IOP (again). Really if your therapist fired you you probably don’t want him/her and he/she probably really couldn’t help. Try again and you may...

Thing is I think this therapist could have helped me because she said I needed a specialist for my personality disorders. Email them back and ask for a referral to a specialist. I don't have borderline personality disorder, I have schizoid and avoidant. I did write them back and said they were unfa...

Saw this therapist 3 times and told her last week that I've been thinking about death a lot and one day thought about suicide so she sent me to the ER. I felt fine in the ER and didn't tell the Dr. about suicidal ideation. I got an email from therapist's boss stating that they reviewed my file and d...

One Dr told me I had agoraphobia and not Asperger's. I don't like being around people. People have always criticized me everywhere I go because I'm not social. Even working for USAF people were like that. People are nasty.

Marching around the basement to Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture and Bobby Kennedy's death. I can still see the train on TV that carried his body to Washington and the sadness I felt. And I remember sitting on my dad's shoulders during a Nixon campaign stop.

My parents thought I was going to grow out of it but I never did. Detachment continued into my 30...

I had one resident Dr. call me a "loner" which I thought was bad judgement. I take offense to that.

A young punk resident at Johns Hopkins said to me one morning, "You have Asperger's" and proceeded to call my dad and tell him and he never explained anything else about it, like getting treatment, etc..

I've had this really bad for decades. I keep pushing myself to enjoy things but it doesn't really work all the time. I can't stand it and professionals don't really want to talk about it. I've taken every medication the last 35 yrs and ECT with no relief.

Yes, 13 is kind of late to first notice any problems for an ASD kid. My parents certainly noticed problems before I started school. And once school started things were rocky from then on.

I had a Dr. tell me otherwise, she said 13 wasn't too late to experience problems.

I haven't had any luck with treating my panic attacks. I mean treatment doesn't even exist because doctors just shrug it off. What can I do? They last 1-2 hrs. (I've taken klonopin and saphris for my anxiety but they always wear off. Saphris worked really well 4 mths ago.)

Have problems since I was 13, depression/anxiety and social problems. I stopped talking at 13 because I was dissociating badly (into my teens and 20's). Been on disability most of my life. I feel hopeless, I've seen tons of drs/therapists with little relief.

I never liked myself since I was 13 when I started getting sick. I never liked the person I was because my illness controlled my life. My self-esteem has always been poor.

I've taken every SSRI, MAOi, Mood stabilizer and many anti-psychotics for my depression/anxiety. Only paxil worked for 6 yrs and geodon helped at the beginning and recently saphris stopped my anxiety in Nov. but has worn off. Benzos don't really work. Had ECT 4 times since 1992 with no relief.
