As far as the ID component goes, from what I've seen, there does seem to be a weird bimodal distribution where there's potentially two different distributions sitting on top of each other. Not including AS with ASD would probably have helped a lot in terms of clarity of what we're dealing with in t...

Autism diagnosis should be done at 8 and 18. Firstly it would cover many Aspies who are diagnosed as teens (particularly girls), i don't even think these are covered in official diagnosis figures? which are at 8. Secondly it would give the true reading of ID in autism since at 8 years old 25% are i...

^ The mention of the possibility of the involvement of a Chinese spy or cartel employee made me lol! Jokes aside, your story is very warm, happy and touching, OP. I hope things work out for you and I wish you the very best with your girlfriend. :) The more likely thing to happen is what happened to...

I can't tell if I am being watched or not. I thought I saw a back neighbour shining a phone flashlight, fake accounts keep following me, getting strange phone calls, finding garbage, and seeing someone walk back and forth in front of where I live. When I bring it up I get told it is paranoia. It do...

A problem with this whole idea of "birth year prevalence": It assumes that all actually autistic people get diagnosed eventually (or at least sufficiently suspected, at some point, for their doctor to use the relevant ICD code). But a lot of older, probably-autistic adults never do seek a...

Sounds like a possibly deranged person whose actual danger is unclear. He wanted to be dangerous, but was he really? The other question is, what was the FBI's involvement in the plot as the FBI frequently supplies mentally ill people with the necessary plans and fake devices so they have somebody t...

How are mental health issues discussed and handled within China? I feel like that's likely the second major contributing factor.

TBH, not super well. It is highly discouraged to express much in the way of emotions publicly. So, you don't really know how anybody is doing if you're not super close.

We'll see how this goes, but we're at the point where we might see states start to just outright refuse to follow rulings from SCOTUS. The literal only legitimacy that SCOTUS has is that the people agree to go along with what they say, and with the court itself being largely illegitimate due to the ...

Yes, although Hitler wasn't just hypnotically charismatic, he also had enough competence to have a functioning state and could benefit from the reality that the country hadn't been treated fairly following WWI with bills to pay so massive that it pretty much guaranteed that there'd be more pain for...

The guy was violent. He was violent to his wife while she was pregnant. He was repeatedly violent with the baby girl. The medical examiner's autopsy showed blunt force trauma as the cause of death. If there had been sepsis or pneumonia as some claim, that would have been found, too. The cause of de...

In a way, I was thinking about Maslow’s hierarchy of needs. Sometimes people worry about the economy to the point that they are concerned about affording food, heating, gas, and stuff like (whether it’s rational or not) without having to skimp on other stuff that’s important to them. Or they worry ...

Whoo...Hoo. this guy , i guess appears by what I have read here, will be getting what he deserves..very Nice when all facts are available ..! 8O That's why a new trial is probably the right call with all the relevant information. Being convicted of the wrong crime, even if the right sentence...

I don't generally overtly, I mostly wind up shutting down as I wasn't really allowed to overtly stim as a child.

But, it's definitely sensory overwhelm and a lot more subtly, which makes it a bit tough to really know.

I wouldn't expect this to last very long. The main reason that there's that stereotype about women not wanting it as badly as men is that for most of human existence, getting pregnant was a life threatening experience and there weren't many good options for avoiding pregnancy other than abstinence a...

In real life, never. And frankly, these things annoy me as well. When I was a young girl, I was a medical secretary for a number of years. It seemed to me that I was the only person around me who took accuracy seriously. I learned in college that I would be liable for incorrect information on a pat...
