Yes I do it almost constantly but I have OCD. I see patterns in everything and things feel "right" when they add up to mulitples of 5. I hear what you're saying about ending on multiples of 5. I find 10s the best. Do you have any particular numbers that feel more wrong to end on? I hate the number ... |

I can remember as a young child counting in my head from 1 to 1000 regularly. I still do this although lack the concentration to get past a couple of hundred these days because I lose track of where I am at. I have a clock in my bedroom that ticks loudly and at night I find myself counting the secon... |

How would you refer to relatives when talking to other relatives? When talking to your neice about her Mum (your sister) would you address your sister as "my sister", "your Mum" or just your sister's name? Just wondering if it's an Aspergers thing to refer to the person as you would usually refer to... |

I wanted to know if this is just me being clueless or a problem others have too. Yesterday I walked into a shop and the shopkeeper said "Hi, how are you?". I looked around and saw others in the shop and didn't know if he was talking to me or to them so I didn't reply. I couldn't read the situation a... |

I get lost and panicky inside buildings. If I go to the doctors I have to have someone walk me from the waiting room to the doctor's office and right back again. Whenever I'm in a building I make a mental note of "turn right, then left, the right" etc so that I can reverse the directions and try to ... |

Researchers did find last year that Aspergers is linked to low cortisol levels: Aspergers Syndrome Tied to Low Cortisol Levels . I have chronic fatigue caused by adrenal insufficiency and have to take Hydrocortisone, Fludrocortisone and DHEA to get through the day. I am very prone to viruses and hav... |

My son has been diagnosed with "Ligamentious Laxity" or "Laxed Ligaments" which basically means he is very floppy and hypermobile. He also has high functioning autism. I too have laxed ligamentious and aspergers. Apparently it's all to do with genetics. Yes many many children who have ligamentious l... |

Interesting thread. My son has been fixated on signs since he was a young baby and still enjoys them. He has Hyperlexia and ASD (possibly Aspergers but he's too young to diagnose). He was reading words at 18 months old due to his Hyperlexia; at just a few months old he would stare at road signs and ... |

Mechanicalgirl39 do you believe you were born with low am cortisol that rises late in the evening due to having AS, or do you believe you developed it following years of the stress associated with having AS? I know people talk a lot about Adrenal Fatigue, which seem to come on after years of stress.... |

IF the NHS guidelines recognised Adrenal Fatigue as the grey area between 'normal' and 'Addisons', one would see the following pattern: Stage 1 begins with excess cortisol (moon face, thin skin, weight around the middle etc): http://www.chronicfatigue.org/ASI%201%20.html Stage 2 has the correct curv... |

Hi. This is one of the most interesting threads I have come across. I have severe Adrenal Insufficiency and very low Cortisol levels, all my test results point to Addisons Disease (most likely Secondary ie my pituitary not producing enough ACTH) other than a test they call the Short Synacthen Test (... |

I've had people comment that I seem like I can be calm in situations where other people freak out.. Sure, maybe it's impressive that I'm not afraid of bugs or blood... But I freak out just if I have to call the pharmacy to get a prescription filled! Ohhh I can relate to that. Medicine is my biggest... |

Here is a list of my own phobias, I will list them starting with the ones that have caused the most anxiety and difficulties throughout my life: 1. Worms. 2. Social phobia. 3. Pu... |
