Thank you so much for your replies. I feel a little better knowing my son isn't the only one going through this stuff. When the teacher was talking to me over the phone yesterday, she also mentioned that he was out in the hallway during lunch, she asked him to go back to the cafeteria, but then when...

Well, thank you for letting me see it from a different perspective. You're right, she should have left the room and should have had an already established area where she should go to whenever she has a meltdown. I guess from a parent's point of view and upon reading that the teacher actually moved t...

This is outrageous! It's not called disability harassment, it's called discrimination and he needs to be punished for it! I would file a discriminatory complaint with OCR (Office of Civil Rights) naming the teacher and the school. He obviously needs some major training that the school needs to prov...

I would definitely see a neuropsychologist to get your son diagnosed. The test/evaluation should take practically all day. I would ask how long the evaluation is and if they say 1 or 2 hours, don't go and find yourself another doctor. The doctor should give you a list of resources if your son is dia...

No, here is OCR's link: http://www.ed.gov/about/offices/list/ocr/index.html?src=mr You're basically going to be filing a discrimination complaint against the school and teacher. There is a specific form you will need to fill out and you will need to state various situations where the teacher was act...

My son is 13 and gets easily frustrated and angry. How do you handle your emotions to stop from getting out of control...especially at school? For instance, my son does not like it when others stare at him (he thinks that they are making fun of him when really they're not) and he gets angry to the p...
