I'm 27, considered neurotypical. I'm always perplexed at the lack of diagnostic standard used by some "professionals" when working with ADHD, ASD etc. My background is in electronics and computers. I sometimes record EEGs, because I'm the only one who can get the computer working. I'm considering go... |

I get angry that they are so close mind. I'm tired of being told by his school that he is barely on the spectrum, they have had other kids on the spectrum and they were nothing like my son. First rule to learn= if you have seen one autistic person, you have seen one autistic person, they are all di... |

In my work as an EEG tech, I come across a few psychologists, not many psychiatrists. I definitely think psychologists usually get into psychology because of their own issues. It seems they all have difficulty understanding their own emotions, and sometimes difficulty with interpersonal skills, but ... |

I have lot of photos of me and luckily my boyfriend has a webcam. I find it a shame there are fakers on aspie affection because then it mkaks it har... |

I had a NT friend who'd constantly ditch me to hang out with other NTs, and he probably made fun of me for being weird behind my back with them. You just don't know who you can trust. I don't think talking behind peoples backs is a NT vs AS thing. Everyone does it! Who hangs out with who is a const... |

Please don't do this, anybody. I don't think it would be at all charitable to try to make an example of someone who has asked for advice in earnest. It would also arguably be against the forum rules. I think that KimJ means to address a general topic here, not a specific incident. I've seen other t... |

Thanks for the welcome :) hi :) why'd your friend show you the site? do you study neurology/psychology? Because my friend has AS. She showed me slashdot too :) I'm not sure she knew at the time that it is one of my favorite sites. I work as an EEG tech. My background is in computers - thats what I s... |

I'm 27 from southern california. My interests included computers, neurology, psychology, aviation, space flight. I was introduced to this site by a friend, and figured I'd set up an account.
A neurologist friend of mine thought my Dx of "Workaholic by proxy" was so appropriate. |
