You know I've been wondering the same thing about myself. I've approached people as a logic puzzle, with an independant ruleset, and find most people's behavior to be mostly predictable within an acceptable range. But it was still funny when I had to sit down with my fiance's parents about some figh...

it was that book that got me looking into this whole thing. My stepdad was diagnosed last year, and i picked it up to learn about him, learned about myself instead :P It's not bad. It's really obviously written by an aspie :) In the end, it's just one guys mildly remarkable story, but it's a really ...

Yeah sometimes its like my arms and legs aren't even there until I run them into something (the worst was the piano in the dark. Needless to say, the piano won). But yoga is really good for figuring out where your bits are, and you begin to gain "muscle memory" to keep yourself more coordinated. Too...

I remember quite a few things from before the age of 5, but I couldn't tell you how old I really was. There's just lots of little things from living in the apartment in Cali that I remember. I've told my mom about them, but she never questioned me - she just didn't remember it at all. I didn't think...

I don't know if I would want a bumper sticker that says "Honk if you love someone with Aspergers". Car honks scare me pretty bad even when I am doing the honking. I would ever be waiting for that honk out of nowhere to come just because someone read my bumper sticker. I like the general idea a lot,...

That's tough. I always did well in language classes, but that's because I always saw them as logic problems rather than linguistics (thus my speech tends towards the very formal when I'm not paying attention). The repeating is annoying, you're right - but I have a tendency to tune out teachers anywa...

thanks for the info :) I'm just starting the process of getting a diagnosis (hopefully it isn't just "oh you? You're crazy") so I don't have anything official for the disability advocates to support me with. All I can rely on is the kindness and understanding of my trainers :) Yeah it's job-related ...

I wear my engagement ring. And it's rubies and emeralds, so it looks like candy. Hard to resist putting it in my mouth :P

Anything else - yeah, I fiddle with it to the point of distraction. Better to leave it off so I can focus on what I should be doing.

'Taste' is a much more than the taste buds. It uses so many different receptor and inputs. I used to eat vast qualities of simualar food for the same reason I love different textures. Give something a different texture and it will change the overal experience. Did you know our perception of crunchi...

So I got promoted recently, and I have to go through six months of training. The training classes consist of a lot of really uninteresting lecture, and it's impossible for me to pay attention normally. Recently (like two days ago), I thought if I had something to do with my hands, where I didn't hav...

Ok, so I'm just learning about all this aspie stuff - about myself. it's a little crazy for me to end up in a place where my behaviour is the norm rather than the exception :P At any rate, my stepfather (who is total Aspie, and just found out last year), would never ever say I love you. He would say...
