Its a vocal minority that causes great books taken out of schools, causes needless censorship of tv shows, and changes national holidays and traditions long held by our citzens inorder not to offend people new to our culture. Its a scarry thing what a few people can do when they feel offended by wh... |

OK, I'm a woman, I'm not shallow, I'm reasonably attractive, I don't want to go out to bars every night, I don't give a damn whether or not my friends think I'm dating someone cool or not. I'm not interested in winning social points. I have Aspergers, but most of the women I know don't and they're n... |

Hair twirling is a stim. However, a lot of non-autistic individuals stim to some extent: hair twirling, foot tapping, lip biting and so on. So the fact that someone twirls hair a lot doesn't really tell you anything about whether or not they're autistic. |

Big problems with noise. No problem with lights or visual stimuli at all so I can't help with that. For the noise I invested in a pair of Peltor Optime III ear defenders, which are brilliant, and which I would recommend to anyone. |

I used to go riding every week from aged 9 to about 17. Would love to do it again at some point but it's expensive and I decided that singing lessons were more important to me. I still love horses though. Amazing creatures. |

I have a mild preference for "autistic" but I'm not too fussed - I'm not going to get mad at someone who uses a different term. I'm most bothered by the mentality which changes terminology every three months for the same condition because certain people decide that the old term is now suddenly offen... |

Certainly these images get more severe for me when I'm depressed. When depression gets really bad they start to take over. |

Oh yeah, I have a whole bunch of these. I imagine a noose tightening around my neck, or a knife going through my abdomen. I don't think it's healthy but it's sort of automatic. This kind of obsessive imagery has been known to contribute towards meltdowns/panic attacks. |

I couldn't get past the drivelling about tarot and astrology. It looks as though it's another vague profile of "every category fits everyone a bit." Much like astrology in fact. |

Neither of my parents is diagnosed but both have pretty strong AS traits. My dad is the stereotypical aspie in many respects: reclusive; logical; doesn't give a damn what he looks like; always speaks his mind; was a fanatical trainspotter in his youth. My mum has serious social issues, lacks empathy... |

I don't think there will be one. This isn't a simple prejudice, like racism. The colour of a person's skin has no impact on their competence to rule a country. Asperger's Syndrome, as much as I wouldn't be without it, does. An aspie president who has executive dysfunction, face blindness, a habit of... |

I think HK should do whatever she feels that she wants to do, because it is her life. I know if I suddenly became famous I would not waste five seconds thinking of everything which everyone else on the spectrum wants me to portray. I also take issue with the way that the modelling industry works, bu... |
