I don't think it's that easy. When I was young I didn't know I was autistic. I put in a lot of effort in "learning social skills" and I got really good at it on a superficial level. I got popular among friends and a lot of girls and later women were attracted to me. Problem was it was a m...

I'm sorry to hear about the situation with your dad. I just read a book about Gender, Sexuality and Autism and it mentioned how it's not always safe to come out and they link to a page of the Trevor Project. You might know the page already, but it's the only thing I can think of right now: https://w...

That sounds more like asexuality than alexithymia to me. It's nothing to be ashamed of, either way. Can you explain why you think it's alexithymia? My sexual fantasies say otherwise. I also seem to get attraction once in a while, but it often comes out of nowhere. When it’s noticeable for me, it’s ...

I read an old thread on greetings and it wasn't very conclusive, so I'm trying a new one, if that's okay: Why are greetings so difficult? I just can't seem to do them a lot of the time. I mean I've had daily training for 30+ years now (I mean life, not real training, though) and I still can't do the...

I have often been told "How come you didn't know that?" when it comes to something "Everyone knows!" (Well I didn't! :D ), but information on things that mean nothing to others I can go way deep into This. I find it quite hurtful every time someone says "Everyone knows that...

I don't want to be a tufted titmouse. If you post enough posts you'll eventually hit the ceiling of veteran status. Just keep posting ...and your rank will go up...to some other flying creature. Not that there is anything wrong with tufted titmice...or titmouses...or...whatever the plural is. I kno...

Is it actually site set up for ND folk?

No, but folklore says it was set up by ND folk. So it just happened to suit their needs and developed its own culture that way. By accident more than by design.

I've read this many times. It's sad to me, because if the governments, big news agencies etc. had taken this chance to move everything to Mastodon and leave Twitter, Instagram etc., the world would have maybe had a chance of going to **** less rapidly. But the way it happened Mastodon stayed a place...

Your worries about making the world better make me feel incredibly hedonistic. 8O I have never thought about it, but I imagine I would just be busy enjoying myself as much as I can. Okay, now that I'm thinking about it that's probably an unrealistic fantasy. I would instead fall into deep dispair ov...

Thank you. My mum is great with me and even told me not to hide how I’m feeling around her but I just feel bad for it. From my personal experience: Yes, I have been and am still unable to show my feelings to my family. I can relate to your worries. I have learned that this is a common autistic expe...
