I don't know where to start here.....When my 9 year old daughter started school, at 5, the teacher started informing us of problems in the classroom(typical ADHD). Let's just say I was not convinced, and just keep saying that I was the same way, and out grew it yadda, yadda.....but I trusted my wife...

OK....For any of us over 50 (ask your parents or grandparents if you aren't) you should understand how important these vaccinations are. There is no scientific, peer reviewed evidence that ties vaccinations to autism. Unfortunatly, people like Jenny McCarthy don't help the discourse and keep it in t...

Would you consider this a good alternative to mainstreaming/homeschooling, if it were a possibility?

Wow! This school sounds great. Do they have a website that covers the program? Of course, if they did, it's in Danish, and I wouldn't be able to read it any way.

Tak

http://www.times-news.com/local/local_story_073082239.html I think what he said was awful and very wrong, but I bet he didn't realize what it meant and the history behind such a remark. He probably heard some NT kid saying it and thought it was OK or just a regular putdown. I've experienced some st...

My 8 year old over the last year has gone from Lego's to Magnetixs to Magnaformers to a obsession with "Dirty Jobs" on the Discovery Channel (I think she had a secret crush on Mike Rowe). Now all she wants to do is to be on the computer website called Webkinz.........

Thanks.......Mine is 8 and she rarely complains that she has no friends. But I'm always on the lookout with her to see if at least she verbalizes it to us. Sometimes it's hard to tell if it does bother her and she is just not telling us.

although it never seemed to bother son ( not having same-age friends), it does bother my daughter. she's just begun saying that she has no friends. she doesn't want to make any changes to help her make new friends~just wants to lament that she doesn't have any. (she does, btw, have 2 friends.) How ...

My brother and his wife use those ear wax candle things, but I've also heard they're very dangerous. I don't know who to believe anymore. :? BTW, those ear wax candles are a hoax......Check the internet for all kinds of info on why they don't work. I'm sure there will people that disagree....But do...

Whoa....Am I missing something here? Typically don't they do a ear wash procedure to remove the wax? Not that your son would like that any better.....But "DIG"ging it out? Sounds a little intrusive to me.

Adults like us because we are able to comprehend and discuss complex topics which most kids our age could not understand, as long as it is interesting to us. Kids our age don't like us because we lack social skills, we are not able to act exactly like everyone else, and we often outperform them in ...

I see the dilemma. My 8 year old is obsessed with words like "fart", "poop", "butt". Are they inappropriate comments? Sure, but every other 8 year old uses them too.
