Sadly, she passed away before I was healed enough !face her. I'm working on finishing my education. I'm on a break right now because I'm waiting to go to a center for the blind for more training. |

The consensus is that science will prove there are autisms or that what we call autism are completely different conditions. That may not happen for a long time if it happens at all. In the meantime like it or not the Autism community is in this together. We need to stop language policing each other... |

I'm still dealing with a lot of anger in my heart towards my mom because I begged her for therapy, but she didn't believe in it. I needed help really badly, but no one noticed because I was good at academics. |

What I've seen of a lot of the posts I've seen are for autistic people to share their experiences. People should keep that in mind when they look at this stuff. |

I've suspected it for several years, and now I've had the official diagnosis and have started taking meds. I'm still trying to process this. |

I can relate. Change sucks, and I just want to do what I have to and then get on with life. Heck, life's already stressful enough without all that climbing the corporate ladder crap. |

I got tripped up today by how are you, but in the opposite way. I thought she was saying the greeting version, but she actually wanted to know. One thing that I was recently told is that there's another version of this complicated question. Sometimes, if they care about you, they do want to know, bu... |

Yeah it trips me up too. I'm a bit embarrassed to say that I've asked my friends before when they've asked me that if it was the ND or NT version. I think of ND and NT as separate languages. |

In regard to how I feel about NTs, when I first found out I was autistic, I went down the rabbithole of resenting them. I couldn't stay there for very long because I've been blessed to know some lovely ones. My Meemaw (another name for Grandma) was the most loving, sweet, empathic person I've ever k... |

I do agree that there are positive features, but there are negative ones too. While I try to be positive, sometimes it's good to have a place where you can talk about the very real struggles that also come with autism. |

I have plushies, and I see them as characters, similar to how they are in Toy Story. My favorite bear was named Corduroy. He was not the actual character, but I just named him after the Corduroy bear. He would repeat what you say when you pressed his paw. That bear was my best friend, and I'm still ... |

I like the music y'all are playing. One weird thing I like is that I like to analyze commercials. My favorite are PSA's, but they call them PIFs in the UK. I like the funny ones, but my favorite are the creepier the better. I'm partial to radio PSAs but those aren't as common to see on YouTube unfor... |

Unfortunately my school didn't catch anything. My family didn't realize it because I'm blind, so they just thought everything was going on because of that. The people at the school for the blind should have known better, though, especially that blasted guidance counselor who bullied me and straight ... |
