level 90 human shadow priest here. I've been playing on and off since beta. I also prefer tooling around and making gold and farming for pets and mounts. Interacting with people stresses me out majorly. |

I identify with this first post so much. My oldest son, who was diagnosed with PDD-NOS as a small child, is now 18. He's still just a junior in high school. My husband and I have no intention of throwing him out or anything, but life is getting very complicated for us. My son is still very dependent... |

I'm so sorry to hear about what you're going through. It's basically one of the things I fear the most. I'm married to an NT guy. He's basically my best friend, and I don't really have any other friends. If things went south with us I'd want him to console me too. |

You're definitely not alone in this. When I was a teenager, I was obsessed with books and video games. I asked for video games for Christmas when I was sixteen, and my mom sternly informed me that I was too old for them. She bought me this awful, fuzzy pink sweater that itched and a bunch of makeup ... |

WTF? :x Has anyone else here gone through this? Figured this out in middle age that is. Please let me know. Thank you for listening. I didn't really figure it out until it turned out that all three of my kids were somewhere on the spectrum. I was doing all of this research and reading to learn what... |

I have to admit, the movies are kind of a guilty pleasure of mine. I know they're stupid but they have a sort of awkward, goofy charm for me. My husband refuses to watch them with me though. |

Yeah, bored and lonely. I think I need a new obsession, too. It's so nice to wake up in the middle of the night on fire with new ideas and want to race to the computer to get it all down. The down times in between are so depressing. I'm married, and I think my husband and I get along quite well, but... |

Hey, Amanda. My six year old son has autism, too, and he wasn't speaking at first either. He barely speaks still, but sometimes he will say mommy, and every once in a blue moon he will even give me a kiss! I know it must be really rough right now. Anyway, nice to meet you. |

Yeah, that's my thing too, I probably wouldn't even count as being on the spectrum for whatever reason. It's just frustrating, I feel like I push myself so hard and in a way you're punished for improving yourself because then nobody thinks you ever need any help. But hey, don't feel that you weren't... |

I'm now realizing, having read up some more on autism, that I have not one, but TWO children on the spectrum, if children with PDD NOS are included. I'm not even certain if they are, everything is written so vaguely. My six year old son had been going to a special school for the past couple of years... |

I have terrible difficulties with friendships. At the current time, I have my immediate family and a guy I send funny links to over instant messenger and that's about it. Most of my friends from high school just drifted away. One of them stuck around until I got really drunk one night and disclosed ... |

I guess I haven't posted enough messages to be allowed to post pictures, but one of my current passions is passive energy houses. I also love round houses and earth stations and weird houses that look like ufo's. Gothic Victorian houses with the empire style roofs are another favorite. Art Deco and ... |

My avatar is a pic of my gnome mage from World of Warcraft. I chose it because I identify with gnomes. They are small and curious and childlike, yet very intelligent. I also have this weird love/hate relationship with the color pink. |

I'm a thirty-five year old housewife with three children, one of whom was diagnosed with autism when he was about two. I've had struggles socially for many years, and always knew I was different, but it took years of educating myself about autism to help my child for it to finally hit me that I was ... |
