This place feels like home to me. Depressing? Yes. But I wouldn't have it any other way. Would you rather engage the NT tradition of pretending everything is nice and good even when it is not? Ugh. Yes depressing because NTs own the world. Yes depressing because of getting fired for being who you ar...

This could be the title of the story of my life. I am in the process of losing the job I've had for the past 5 years. I do psychiatric crisis evaluations. I have a PhD in psychology but couldn't get a job doing that because it really is all about networking. Working overnights was best for me. Lots ...

I was in a relationship for 10 years until 2003. Basically we had a few years of happiness, and then things deteriorated. I don't think this is uncommon even for NTs. For the first few years I spent a lot of time being devoted to my partner. We had a lot in common - both working on a PhD in psycholo...

I think it means that you shared similar experiences and had the same feelings. I think it's also used to indicate that someone feels connected to the person on whose wavelength they are.

Hm. Maybe also used as a pick up line.

Amazing, the things I never knew I never knew....

I don't like Aspie, agree that it seems diminutive. However, I don't like gay, either. Kind of takes a bad shot at gay pride.
I call myself an Autist.
Also, in response to neuro-typical, I am neuro-unique.

I used to have incredible hearing but that's failing as I get older. Still can hear things at pitches inaudible to others. I have not been able to wear synthetics against my skin all my life. I am very sensitive to texture so I can't eat food prepared in certain ways. When I was a kid I would eat ra...

Hi, I'm new, and I have a question or two... I'm not diagnosed with AS or anything, but it seems pretty clear to me that there is something very wrong with me, and I only seem to be getting worse. Is this typical, or even possible? Is there any recovery? Anyone with similar experiences? Yes similar...

Silly you! This is not about helping people. It's about making the world safe for the creation of new foreign markets. You can't sell consumerism without teaching people how to say "big mac."

I think NT's looking for a freak show will look elsewhere simply because they won't understand the language spoken here...

If I really have AS then why do I have a sex drive? Why do I get lonely? Why does talking to two highly sexually desirable NT's make me feel this way? How come I am writing this instead of being with them? Look, I am a finite creature and as such I am stalked by time and death. Do I not deserve at ...
