Your post got me thinking. I do this same type of thing when I am sitting and reading except I don't actually scratch anything off. I just rub my fingers over little pieces of skin on my scalp over and over and over... I've been doing that for years.

Hmmm, so maybe I do 'stim'.

What do you think when you hear this: "A woman walked onto a bus and there were no seats." I imagine a bus without any seats installed. But this was supposed to mean that the bus did have seats installed but there were no empty seats. Also, how would you reply to the question "What's happening?". I ...

Perfumes really get me. But what I hate the MOST is someone talking right behind me in an elevator or walking on the sidewalk. This can put me in an irritable mood for the rest of the day.

I think this is common in autism. I've read that autistic children frequently draw themselves as a system of tubes and pipes.

Haha, some of those are really funny! Here's another one that I remember from my childhood: It was around the time that car manufacturers started putting brake lights in the rear window (in addition to the ones near the bumper). I asked my father what it was and he said that it was a brake light and...

This thread is about things that you have taken literally that ended up being funny. Here's mine: Today I was at the dentist and at the end of the cleaning she said to me: "Can you use a toothbrush?" My thoughts went like this: "What does she mean? Of course I can use a toothbrush! Oh.. maybe my tee...

I lived in NYC for 5 years and I hated it. It's noisy, dirty, smelly and full of people all over the place. I couldn't wait to leave. Of course now that I've left I can't help getting nostalgic once in a while - becaues after all, there really is no place like NYC...

When my grandparents moved out of town I was most upset about not visiting the HOUSE anymore. Now, 15 years later, I make a point of passing by that house and taking a good look at it. I also daydream about buying it one day.

The part of change that really throws me is the fact that suddenly, the rest of the day (or week) is unknown because it doesn't fit into the schedule that I have in my brain anymore. So I have to rethink everything and put everything back into place in my mind. This is confusing and it can take a lo...

I've always thought Mitch Hedburg was a little bit Aspie - because he kept his eyes shut and didn't look at the audience and his observations seemed so literal and Aspie-like. Also, he wore coloured glasses - so maybe a bit of Irlen syndrome too? I don't know, it's a wild guess.
