I live in Australia, and aside from the healthcare thing (which I was primarly referring to private healthcare, in Australia we have Government funded healthcare too but more wealthy people still have a preference for private insurance because the treatment is faster and often better), what you jus...

The article is specious because Einstein's IQ was never measured. Besides, the term "IQ" is practically meaningless. I agree on both counts. His IQ means precious little. What is astonishing though is that he taught himself calculus, algebra, geometry and trigonometry within a week, skipped 7 grade...

More specifically, those that uphold the law are supposed to be a positive force. The first word in 'protect and serve' is 'protect', not 'punish' or 'avenge'. Fear isn't an appropriate emotion for them to be trying to cultivate - they are a shield, not a sword (talk to the military for a sword ). ...

Again, there is no 'social contract'. I have no idea what you're talking about. If I recognize someone else's property, that isn't a contract. If I steal his hammer, that doesn't violate a contract. A contract is an agreement. Contracts are a purely civil matter, not criminal. You clearly did not r...

The law existed before the state, as did, obviously, civilization. The problem with this 'social contract' canard is that it isn't anything like a contract. A contract is a voluntary agreement. Nobody calls being a child a 'family contract'. You can call certain things family *obligations*, but tha...

Perhaps, you could elaborate? I'm failing to see a "wrong" in this conversation. It was pleasant and cordial, maintained over a decent length. It also ended with a simple and pleasant response. What exactly is "wrong" about it? Is there more information beyond this conversation, or amongst the conve...

For those arguing that B would happen, not in a computer game engine, but in real life with a wormhole/Einstein-Rosen bridge, because of reference frames; I suggest you try to replicate the setup thusly - drop a hula hoop as a stand-in in for the portal mouth over a box such that it falls around it...

no, not even the psychologists can agree, and its not something i say with myself as the source, it is sopmething referenced in pretty much any source material you come across. then you have to take all the factors discussed above into account as well. i dont deny that there may be a true neurologi...

Actually, I'm pretty sure everyone is wrong. I just did some numerical thinking in my head. I was thinking about what happened at a subatomic level. Estimating the force and pressure. A Is still a possible answer, but it depends on both the speed of the dropping wall and the material on the othersid...

A problem with both your diagrams: 1. Does the portal even have mass? If not, than it might only have energy on the edges, but not in the center. The opening is nothing more than open space. I'm pretty sure the portal is supposed to be a weapon of entropy. Let's put it this way, 'observe the univer...

I'm assuming this is in continuation from the last thread made about game character models? Again, what you do is going to depend on the game engine. Don't use a video format. However, if you want transparent sprites that could work assuming the game engine just has basic alpha recognition, than you...

1. Depends on the game engine. Some engines would require a single mesh. Others may have more freedom. Also, as a seperate issue to remember: If you don't combine into a single mesh than it may take longer to keep the model accurate and precise. For example, the edges of the mesh will need to match ...

Is there a reason you can't play along and imagine an autistic narcissist? Something about your thought patterns precludes that kind of speculation? You have intimate knowledge of autism and you have wiki knowledge of narcissism. Put them together, see what happens. Given your description for autis...

Maybe if you think in Game Theory terms it would help. Hurting people ('defecting') provides a very short-term advantage. An autistic narcissist can see the game in higher dimensions and know to use strategies that involve being nicer - but the aim of maximising personal win remains the same. Well ...

"Name-calling, intimidation, bullying, oppression" These are secondary symptoms. A narcissist who is as strong and beautiful as they believe would radiate love, because they could afford to and it would be the smartest way to get adoration. Think about it. You still haven't imagined how an autistic...
