Hi all. :) I'm not exactly new but it's been over a year since I posted here. A little about myself, I'm 28 years old and I'm a self-diagnosed Aspie. I would get diagnosed but it would cost $1500 and I don't have that kind of money. It's always been really hard for me to make friends...I do have one...

For me it would probably be Internet friends. I have an easier time communicating online rather than in real life, and it would be easier for me to make friends online.

I've been watching it -- it's pretty cool. And beautiful too!

I've often wondered about this myself. Will I ever be socially confident? I hope one day I will. My problem is I often don't know what to say to people, or how to respond when someone says something to me. It's like I have a brain freeze. Even online sometimes I get "stuck" and don't know what to sa...

My facial expression almost never matches how I really feel.
People say I smile a lot. Which isn't a bad thing I guess -- but sometimes, even when I'm feeling sad or having a bad day, people say, "you must be really happy!" or "what a nice smile!" Maybe it's just a part of having AS?

I have mixed feelings about a cure. On one hand, I would really like to have normal life, go out and meet people and know how to converse with them, maybe have a family. On the other hand, I kind of like being different. I've been this way for almost 27 years now and I've sort of grown used to it. I...

My cousin was recently diagnosed with a mild form of autism, and my brother is studying to be a nurse and wants to help autistic kids -- it interested me so I started looking up autism on the Internet. I read an article about AS and it sounded exactly like me.

I don't have panic attacks. I just don't feel like going out and interacting with people.

I am never "in the loop". And for some reason, that doesn't really bother me.

I know exactly how you feel. I'm 26, will be 27 next month, and still living at home with my mother. I do have a job but it's a rather low paying one. I have no friends and never go out. I've never had a boyfriend or even been on a date. I'm also looking for my purpose in life -- some days I think I...

Yeah -- I'm the same way. I feel like people just don't "get" me -- if that makes any sense.
I, too, feel some sort of empty feeling. Like there's something missing. Just don't know what it is.

Try going to the library and looking for books about dragons and elves. I'm sure they have quite a few.

I would probably be writing stories. Maybe even a novel. I haven't written anything in years -- been thinking about starting back writing again -- even bought a notebook to write in. Just can't think of a good plot.

I've always loved the name Ashleigh.
In fact, I like to write stories and in one of my stories I had a character named Ashleigh. It's a cool name.

I've been on the Internet since 1997 and have had literally hundreds of screen names/user names on AOL, and various message boards. I can't even remember most of them.
I have to say I'm pretty happy using Denali right now.
