Add Toys R Us to that list (but Dollar General sells Mountain Dew too cheaply for me to stage a personal boycott). However, a boycott does no good if you don't inform them of the reason (and if you do, they may choose not to help autism related charities again). |

Dollar General has partnered with Autism Speaks, providing coupons with Autism Speaks literature, as well as accepting donations. They do not have any Autism Speaks literature on their website that I could find, but here's their contact form: http://www.dollargeneral.com/OurStores/Pages/CustomerServ... |

All staff positions are by qualifications, not quotas. Advisory Boards are broad groups that look over all submitted proposals, then the best are forwarded to other boards. Do you think you should be on the Medical Review Board? [...] Everyone involved is highly qualified for the job they hold. The... |

It's a very good question, and I don't think the answer is an easy one. Societal pressures and conditioning, thought patterns (men generally use porn, and women generally don't), and pysological differences, I think, all play a part. Personally, I think there's a greater physological drive for men. ... |

I want to get properly diagnosed so I don't waste time when learning coping strategies. I also don't want to constantly second-guess myself if I really have something or not. If I have it, then I want to focus on what I can do for that. If I don't have it, then I want to know why I seem to have it ... |

If you're looking for therapy, shop around for a therapists who doesn't care what you're diagnosed as (recognizing Dx's are mostly pointless). This is completely false and dangerously misleading. Failure to recognize and take into account differences arising as a result of an ASD, and delivering ca... |

I've been to three therapists, all of which agreed I probably have AS. The first said she would run a battery of oral and written tests, taking 3 to 4 hours, and cost $350. The second, I didn't really ask for details, but when it came up she said she would have to speak to me further, and it would h... |

The dx has made little difference and I am insightful enough to know that it would not make a dint immediately in my personal life.... That me trying all my life to mimic normality, it has somehow been a ruse... But what is the point of a dx, if you do nothing with it, and problems exist? What if I... |

I don't think we need any more stereotypical associations... I disagree. First, it's not stereotypical, since it's backed up by stastitics, though the science behind that might be argued. Second, the association could be very important. If a girl has autism and is thin, a medical/social worker coul... |

Tthe idea that it evolved as the next step is rediculious since it is uncommon, and therefore less likely to be passed on. However, since "survival of the fittest" is out, societal pressures could, in theory, make it predominant. But society would have to advance to the point where ASD traits equals... |
