.... and that's why I found this site! I would interpret what my daughter (AS) has to say to my wife and her reply would be "you both are from the wrong planet"...

This is a tricky question. I think most AS prefer to be literal and exact. But that can also be a problem. "Did you take the ipod" can be understood as "did you take the ipod yesterday" to which an honest answer might be no. Or she can have herself convinced that it isn't her sisters. And so on. Wi... |

I’m not adopted but have adopted two biological sisters. One had been taken from her birth mom at age three and the other from her birth mom at birth. Our youngest is developing “normally” (whatever that is) and our oldest is being tested at the end of the month for Aspergers. We have been a family ... |

Long story as to why I'm asking. But in the end my daughter’s lying is becoming extreme. I know people lie by nature to avoid consequences. A quick example would be; “why did you take your sisters I-pod” “I didn’t” while holding it in her hands and would argue that she doesn’t have it and then put i... |

How does lying fit into symptoms? I'm having difficulties in getting my daughter to tell the truth or not "invent" stories and was wondering if it's related to aspergers. |

From the previous statements, I don't think it really matters whether or not he tests positive for AS, He is fortunate enough to have a family VERY familiar with the syndrome and are prepared to provide whatever is needed. |

Welcome. I am here as a parent for my Daughter. She has not been diagnosed as yet, but moving forward to get it done. I am also very new here but feeling at home. The more I read, the more I'm understanding. My approach with her has changed these past few days and as best as I can describe it, is sh... |

[quote="gbollard"]Welcome Stephanie, You might want to try the Aspie Quiz (Link removed) How accurate are these tests? I do understand they are basically guidelines and shouldn't be used to definitively asses anyone but I have completed one on behalf of my 11 year old daughter and sure eno... |

Thanks for you insight Jen. That was VERY helpful and now know I'm heading in the right direction. May daughter is only 11, she is only now noticing she is unique. The past 2 years have been rough on her as their 4 girls in her class using her as a pawn. The statement I made may be a bit confusing, ... |
