But I love starchy carbs  Yeah, it sucks, but starchy carbs - and salt too - encourage your body to retain water, which keeps your abs from showing. Too much sugar (refined sugar, mainly, as opposed to fruit) isn't too good either if you're trying to get toned - empty calories and all. (Trust ...

The trouble with that sort of perception is that people will use you as 'living entertainment', you know, everything you say or do is regarded as entertainment. These days I'm careful to dress anonymously and not draw attention to myself in public. I cultivate anonymity. I got tired of the 'living ...

Overall, I seem to be well-liked by people, but they tend not to get too close to me. I think it's mainly because they don't think they have much in common with me, and they are probably right. Also they know I am not the go-to person for sympathy, since I don't know how to do that. That probably pu...

What a jerk! I hope you are glad he is no longer in your life.

I have cats and I have noticed that among themselves they are very nonverbal communicators; they use their voices more when they are around me. I just discovered my oldest cat (15) is deaf, so communicating with her is a challenge. She has no difficulty communicating to me! I've noticed this with m...

yes. I developed my conscience a little too early as a child... The problem is that there are a lot of people out there (most of 'em, I gather) who don't have a conscience. So most people don't get an inch out of me. And when I do give that inch, I don't expect anything in return and am just giving...

I took the Chandler Macleod test... pretty good... I gave them 80%. (BTW, interesting how our NT member who took it was the only one whose description included descriptions like "abundance of sociability and energy" and "effective member of an enthusiastic work group." ) 'HE' style The combin...

Pilates is about the same intensity as a moderate Yoga session, but you are mostly doing exercises on a mat, on your back, your side or on all fours and few or no inversions (and when you do something where you head is lower than your heart, you aren't holding a pose). Some DVDs have you doing exerc...

You could be right about that - I am a writer (and have been one for over 20 years), so I type very, very fast.

It's weird - I actually love socializing, but I'm terrible at it! Seriously, the easiest way to get me out of the house is a party (as long as somebody else offers to drive - hate driving and other drivers no doubt hate me). But then I'll get there and hang out by the food table talking to no one, o...

This test gave me a hard time at first because the color used for orange looked more yellow to me and of course when I said yellow, it marked me as wrong. So it took me a few seconds to get that right. Then I screwed up hitting enter, when I was already on the next color. So it took me 58 seconds, p...

I love exercise and it helped me get over some low-level depression I had about 10 years ago (I didn't even know I was depressed until I began exercising regularly and my mood improved significantly), but all that said, I honestly don't think exercise is going to help someone with clinical depressio...
