Tortuga - that's it - it doesn't shock the wearer, it just has a vibration. God knows I wouldn't ever consider putting a shock device on my son! Somehow that got blown out of proportion. You bring up a good point, which is exactly why I asked here for people's thoughts on this as I wasn't sure it wa...

:!: Funny - my eight year old daughter walks on her toes all the time. We were told it could be a sign of AS and/or related to her sensory issues. I wish there was a tape that taught how to walk heel to toe!

Thanks - that's helpful feedback! I wasn't sure - it didn't seem like something that would teach him, but something that would "wake" him up when he's asleep with his eyes open. However, if there's a way to teach him to do that on his own, that seems preferable. I just don't know how to do that....

My son, who just got his IEP will have 60 minutes of speech each week. He'll have a half hour by himself and a half hour with a group to work on social conversation skills and pragmatic speech. I feel really fortunate to have this available for him at school.

I tried to do a link to the website for it, but I haven't posted 5 times, so it won't let me. It's called Good Vibrations and it's on Allied Products, Biofeedback devices.

I did see that segment on ABC news and it was a huge wake-up call for me. My 6 year old son was diagnosed recently with AS, but the school psychologist thinks his 8 year old sister has ADHD. I know it's more than that. She struggles so much in social situations. She wants to be like all the other gi...

My 8 year old has horrible issues with clothes. She has other tactile/sensory issues as well, but clothes are a nightmare. We buy most of her clothes at Gymboree (now that she's grown out of Carter's) - when they have sales, they're reasonable and there's a Gymboree outlet close to us too. We still ...

Hi - I'm new to the forum. My son, who is 6 was diagnosed (FINALLY) a few weeks ago with Asperger's. We suspected it for a long time, but it took forever to get a pediatrician to listen. Anyway - we're past that now. In school he zones out frequently and the neuro-psych suggested a "good vibrations"...
