Brain damage can't give you autism but it could cause similar symptoms in some areas, like sensory issues. Concussions can make you sensitive to light. Anyways, he's probably trying to remove all blame for his actions by saying he's autistic.

I hate highschool. I wish I could drop out without ruining my life in the process. My parents also would rather die than let me drop out because they place so much value on school.
