place that these comments put me in . To be able to be reminded of the hope and success that is possible is helpful to my psyche and my spirit. I'm leaving therapy for myself as a near option and trying to just think about the positive aspects that could happen from all of this and to be very proact... |

I am sure that we will do all of them. He will soon go live in a group home, he is currently inpatient. He has been in and out of there many times and thrives there actually. I suspect it is the absolute controlled environment that calms him down. He hates change or surprises and has an extreme amou... |

Our 13 year old was just diagnosed with conduct disorder, we were told it is very close to sociopathy. I was also told that the type of narcissism that he has is very rare. We are educated and dedicated parents and this is very upsetting. We love that child and are trying desperately to keep him out... |

Oh wow, I didn't think of pointing out respect to my son because it isn't something I think about in detail, I just do it. Very helpful. Thank you Dw! I am so thankful for this sight. These teen years are a path in any light ...and it's adds a dimension of wellness to the whole process to have suppo... |

Tracker- The list isn't meant to be idealized, although it probably seems that way. I am just trying to give him a "picture" of what a healthy relationship usually looks like for people. When I say that a friend respects the laws, I am talking about not stealing, not doing drugs, my son just turned ... |

Your insight is incredibly helpful to me . I really appreciate you taking the time to share this with me. I will put it in his friendship folder that he refers to often. This is well said.
Zeg- Knowing each other is a good point to bring up since he thinks just about anyone is his friend. |

especially when he is bored or trying to concentrate. My son had nightmares at that age, could he be waking up from that? At night, I had a television and a remote with recorded videos for him to watch when he woke up. At the age of 2 he could work it well. What I found helpful for calming him at th... |

My son is expressing feelings of sadness because he is lonely. I see him making unhealthy relationships. We are in cognitive therapy and extensive programs right now helping him through this, but he responds well to written lists so I thought I would show you what I have so far and ask for your inpu... |

and ideas. Our son is 12 and he just went to sleep the other day and he woke up and said out of the blue. I think I am internalizing this. I like the ideas posted here. |

for some time. I'm thankful he is alive and feeling out of place because our life just did a complete change. I'm overcoming the shock of it all and decided to reach out here . I also have a question because I want to know if anyone has ideas about how I should discuss this with my son with Asperger... |

Pep is parents educating parents. I had to go around and around at another school to get an iep for my son with adhd but eventually he got it. We went to the top of the ladder to discuss it and ask how we should handle the situation. We were ready to stir the pot to make sure he didn't fall through ... |

All I can say is holy cow! I can relate to the trouble you are having. I'm sorry you have to deal with all the drama, but your son is really fortunate to have you advocating for him, it will make a huge amount of difference for him later. I have a 12 year old that has "mild Asperger's" and he cannot... |

I will have to see about that.
He experiences a large amount of anxiety over what seems trivial to many, I wonder if this would help him.
I think if I were him, I would feel anxious too. I think he feels often like he is in culture shock. |
