Thank you Martin.
There seems to be a number of AS/Bipolar Parent/Child relationships. Maybe I just see a lot of them because I am looking for them.

It's been awhile. This thread is a tiny slice of the internet for me, so I'll utilize it, whether anyone remembers me, or cares, or whatever. Took the ADOS. Scored in the "Normal" range for communication. Scored in the "Autistic" range for the social stuff. Combined scores put him in the "Autistic S... |

I can whistle very poorly, but never do.
I HATE the sound of a person whistling, no matter how "good" at it they are.... |

This is true (in my experience). |

I hope that you find someone who will listen to you, because even if you have a list, they might think you still have some kind of agenda. It's weird. When I took my son in for the initial intake, I brought a list of all of his traits and his kindergarten teacher wrote one for me as well. When the c... |

Wait a minute. Babies get flu shots in the US? Influenza? Nope, it's against the law. Nobody can legally get a flu shot until age 2. Wrong. Age 6 months is the earliest you can get one for your child, and most insurances, even state medical, will pay for them in full until the child is 5 years old. |

My thoughts are with you.
To the "I'm sorry."'s:
"Thank you for your thoughts. I appreciate it."
To the "Is there anything I can do?"'s:
"Thanks so much, I will keep that in mind."
Worked for me when I lost my grandmother. |

He is very bright and communicates well. he gets along fine with the other kids and has no trouble making friends. he seeks out kids to play with and loves to meet new people. You're welcome. Totally fine! :) Your child could be my child's twin. Seriously. Holy cow. Is your child having problems in school/problems with peers/depression? If so, it is my opinion that you most definitely should seek help. Regardless of the outcome, it can be very helpful/educational. Some parents, however, ... |

One thing I've noticed on this site is something that may be best described as autism snobbery —that is, a form of snobbery that follows from one's having an autism spectrum disorder like Asperger's syndrome. I'd say roughly 40% of the active members of this site show this attitude to a greater or ... |

My son just took the ADOS test today, and he scored within the "normal" range for communication. As far as social interaction, he scored in the "autistic" range. The combined final score of the ADOS puts him in the "autistic spectrum" range. I expected communication and being social to go hand-in-ha... |

Actually, he resembles me. AWWW! <3 :P He's four different kinds of cute. What's his name? Thanks. :) His name is Kai, he's 6, and if we lived in the Lego Star Wars world, he'd never stop looking like this: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v338/tempest776/Iwon-20.jpg LOLX. |
