Ooo. I think I would have to choose ...OTHER. Ubuntu or Xubuntu for my older, yet well built system. But, at the moment, Windows XP PRO SP3. But I believe I would consider a dual boot of Linux and Windows any day. The last time I used a Mac was in middle school, and that was System 5,6,7, or possib...

If you happen to have heard Michael Savage's comment on autistic children, then you must have been pretty pissed. I am on the autism spectrum, and this sent me into such a fit that I emailed him a rant, but it bounced. I'm a 12-year old who has Asperger's and I demand an apology from this man, becau...

On most consumer desktops and portables, they don't place floppy disks in anymore due to the wide popularity of USB flash drives, BluRay discs, and Secure Digital cards (I know, I'm a big nerd, you don't have to tell me!). On most business desktops, you still might need a floppy drive internally for...

Hi, my name is Jacob Allen, and I am an 11 year old computer expert with Asperger Syndrome. I have helped kids and teachers at my school with electronics, and whatever advice you have, I'd love to help. And in case you were thinking, I have no preference over Windows, Macintosh, Linux, or any other ...

I don't have audio now so I didn't watch the video, but few things rattle people more than "cure" (which I don't like either) or even "treatment" (which I think are sometimes reasonable) discussions (maybe "self-diagnosis" is up there as well) so that may be the reason noone's responded (yet). I ju...

I think if and when a treatment is found - though, as with pretty much everything, I don't believe any single treatment will treat every single person; what works for some won't work for others - it will probably cost a lot at first, but then come down in price over the following years. As with eve...

This video asks a question of whether a treatment a young female recieved for autistic symptoms could be a cure for autism. What do you think? KEEP IN MIND that April 1st marks the beginning of Autism Awareness Month, so you might want to tell your friends about this site. There is currently 17,323 ...

I think that he'd be happy being called a "prince". Have you actually called him a prince?

jacobdallen, you really should go back to the doctor -- you need to eat to be able to grow. That much of a weight loss is not normal. Unless Strattera is doing magical things for you, the lack of interest in eating is a major negative side effect. There are other meds to try, and at your age (the s...

One of the bits of the new Human Fertilisation and Embryology Bill that's going through parliament at the moment says that if someone has IVF, the doctors can check the embryos for genetic signs of disability. If they find some, then the embryo can be thrown away. If they find genetic markers for a...

Welcome to WP, Jacob. My choice is obviously the last, as no person has ever understood my AS. BTW, I'm into computers too, since my fives. I've been using computers since I was 1 and a half. We bought a IBM Aptiva a year before I was born. My teacher before school was Windows 95. Now, I know about...
