I love metaphors and analogies for being there when i need them! Yes, i do it most of the time, it just makes it so much easier to explain things rather than relating them with individuals.

thank you all for your replies, I didn't realize the age factor that comes with being diagnosed with a PD. I'm 21, and found out about asperger' a month back. If i was to go back to my childhood to trace symptons, I would say they again included lack of social interaction, not having many friends, s...

I've never had imaginary friends myself but one of my friends did a year back. She practically had a group of friends, had even named them and used to deliberately take long showers 'coz she would get to meet them in her bathroom. Her imaginary world would come to life there, and she would wait for ...

i just checked out some info about SPD, and considering that it includes most symptons of asperger's but not the eye contact, restricted interests, obsession with specific objects bit, it sounds more like my case. I do fit in most areas of aspergers (i also got diagnosed recently but don't trust the...

Hmmm...so to what extent do you have a problem with recognizing people? and is this a known aspie trait? Haven't had issues with face blindness, luckily I'm good at remembering even random faces I see...let's hear it from you though.

I think I've been doing this all my life, in fact i was in a way waiting for someone to bring this up. I went crazy about the idea of learning guitar, took lessons for a month, and now 3 years after abandoning that poor instrument in some corner of my house, if I had to play, i would have to begin a...

Greyhound, i've been told that on the face a couple of times. But this was for totally different reasons compared to the responses u've received. Staying put in your comfort zone can be perceived as one taking things for granted, as in when someone is just comfortable with the way things are, conten...

Hey lelia....you know when I am reading people's posts on WP, I feel relaxed because there are so many like me and I feel good about being part of a universal Aspergian community. But the moment I am back with the real physical world, I feel out of place, one reason maybe because I haven't shared an...

Sofia; Welcome. I'm pretty new at this myself. Just joined WP today.I very much understand when you speak about being accused of lacking tact or sensitivity, and coming off as blunt when you assert yourself. The emotions of others can be so confusing, so mysterious. I have inadvertently stepped on ...

Sofia First: welcome. It’s hard to do the transition from “the weirdest of us” to “not one of us.” It may be odd for you to discover that your difficulties were not the result of your constant failure – which is still something you at least have responsibility for – but were the result of your havi...

I've had very similar experiences with my friends...I guess in every relationship/friendship there has to an effort from both sides...and that's where we are faulting. My friends have told me that I don't show an 'interest' or make any 'effort', but only wanting to be part of the gang, which makes t...
