I'm 26, male and from southern Germany, where I'm studying for a PhD in physics. I have reasonable social skills, I'm usually perceived as friendly, but not very outgoing. I love running, cycling, walking and generally spending time outdoors, I like to read or just to think... And I would love to ha... |

Please tell me you're being sarcastic. Pacified? You cannot really mean what you've just wrote. |

"Big Blue" in the descriptive text to this forum should read "Deep Blue", I suppose, named after "the second most powerful computer in the universe in all space and time". Big Blue would be IBM itself.
Sorry, could not resist. |

I've just read the original poem again, or tried to do so, however, I am afraid I must say it doesn't make a lot of sense to me, as in, the "science" seems a bit dodgy. I very much like the way the structures get twisted however, like "mean 'time' when you say 'space'", which seems to break up the l... |

After even the most elaborate to-do-list constructions failed miserably and I was well on track not to get any work done at all this year, I came to realize that the key was not planning, but motivation. Unfortunately, I am extremely bad at motivating myself to do even the things I really want to do... |

I've done a lot of small-group or 1:1 teaching, tutoring etc, and I've enjoyed it, but I think there is much more to teaching in a classroom than just knowing your stuff and being able to find a way to make people understand it. Being a teacher at a regular school, at least from my experience as a s... |

The SATs *were* an indicator of IQ before they were dummed down by the college board. If you took the SATs before 1993 (or maybe it was 91???), Mensa would accept the scores as proof of having an IQ in the 98th percentile.[/quote] Is it not possible that Mensa simply decided that they could make mor... |

By the way: The product of matter and anti-matter is pure energy (in the form of photons I'm pretty sure) not "nothing". I suppose the phrase Matter + Antimatter = Nothing is a kind of reference to Gerd Binnig, Nobel Laureate for Bose Einstein Condensation. The actual phrase he used (coined?) is "M... |

Hi, I have just registered on Wrongplanet.net, as usual, using my first name instead of an alias/avatar, and my email adress, as well as msn .net passport also contain this and more. I think I would find it rather strange to discuss very personal matters under another name, but that may just be a pe... |
