Noises that I can't identify used to frighten me, and still do. I call them noise monsters. Had neighbors years ago who enjoyed tormenting me with as much noise as possible. When I complained to management or called the police, the neighbors retaliated. After about a year of that, I had a breakdown....

Apologies in advance for the strong language in this website, but its straightforwardness and clear description of a puzzling situation really helped me out of the same sort of loop you seem to be in. http://www.heartless-bitches.com/rants/manipulator/manip.shtml Especially difficult for people with...

I once had a job in a third-rate sandwich shop called 'Panini Express', and the woman there (strident, barrel-shaped, small paper hat) suddenly said to me one day: "What are you thinking about? Eh? Always away with the fairies. Live in a world of your own, you." I had been looking out of the window...

A cult which believes negative attention is better than none. Going by blogs on this and the comments, it looks to become a source of amusement for people waiting in line.

Definitely can relate. Often when I go on a forum I'm either generally ignored or it attracts some troll who finds a fictional reason to be annoyed with me.when they do mention why they are annoyed it's basically over things I cannot change about myself, because if I could change them, I would have ...

Yes, I can hear my neighbors cat upstairs walking around overhead. When my neighbor walks it sounds like a herd of buffalo. The low frequency sounds of footsteps overhead drives me to distraction some days. I have air filters going that help with their white noise so that sudden sounds are not so st...

It's about heirarchy, status and power. People are usually consciously & unconsciously aware of everyone's 'place,' and are in some way are always pushing/pulling/jockey-ing for increased status in that system. ... Beware the Social Politics. In my experiences with people, yes, I agree with thi...

Even when God was among the people of Israel and delivered them from slavery, there was rebellion. Even many of those who witnessed Jesus' miracles did not believe in him, but simply attributed it to something else. Yet there are countless people today who believe in God, and that Jesus is the Son o...

Yes, I have that kind of PTSD. It comes and goes but the smallest things can set symptoms off sometimes. Sometimes I get some significant panic attacks as a result. Because of extensive therapy, I've developed some self talk to get me through them. Also self-understanding, like knowing i'm on the sp...

A cure... hmm. I would like to be able to relate to people with much less effort, make friends and keep them, talk to strangers without worrying how I'm coming across to them, and... I'd like a cure for my migraines. :) Seriously though, there are certain elements of my Aspie-ness I don't want to gi...

I find it fascinating that when I point out the irrational acceptance of belief in things that clear thinking has proved untrue, and research confirms in many ways it is untrue, this is taken as an insult. Perhaps it is taken as insulting because the believer is suddenly face to face with his or he...

Can't recall any mis-reads at the moment, but I recall a couple of mis-hearing of commercials. One was for a Folger's coffee slogan "I decaffeinated my husband!" I misheard as "I decapitated my husband!" Also mistaken some gum commercial of "Who wants gum?" with "Who wants to jump?" while family of ...

And if you face reality is this not the facts of life about the results of Christianity? Does this not leave you in despair? Well, in my case, I suppose I should feel some degree of despair, because I have become too great of a fool for Christ. Ah, yes, what a dismal life, there's no hope for grati...
