I let the place get somewhat messy but then I start to clean obsessively and only I can clean and put things in the places they belong. When other people do it, I get upset because I can't find anything. Wow that's me, my mess will get to a critical level and then I will freak out and clean. I'll n... |

Couple of thoughts: If there is some aspects of yourself you are confident about, examine how that feels and try to feel that way about other things. I've had good experiences pretending to have confidence and being suave in tabletop RPG settings. I got compliments on my suave con artist character a... |

I hated it, but my mother made me do it. I swear that the rules for thank you notes could have be easily followed by mail merge.

Sorry to post after it's done, but here was a bit of advice from a Personnel manager who was a family friend. If you can't format it better than the office templates, use the office templates. |

Does your professor know anyone in Europe? Can you meet them at conferences? I ask because we have a grad student with our Oregon lab (Biomedical Engineering), who might be leaving for a post Doc at Imperial College, because he impressed the right person at a conference. It will just be a research p... |

Logic is often taught in the Philosophy department, parts of it are also hidden in the mathematics course called discrete math. But it probably should be required.

I was just diagnosed with Asperger's last Monday. One of my dear friends from college suggested I might be an undiagnosed Aspie, so I got checked out. I live in Portland, OR. I moved up here after Katrina. I've joined some organizations, and met some great people, but I haven't really made friends l... |

Study groups are a wonderful tool at College. It puts you in a known social situation with a group of people from your class. You don't necessarily have to share other interests. I also found they helped my terrible time management by letting other people tell me when to study. If you pick people in... |

I'm playing with setting a timer to go off every hour, and switch tasks so I don't fall into one. It's helped some. I'm hoping being more aware of time will help me make a schedule. |

My parents put me in college classes summer after my sophomore year of high school. If it would help you not agonize you might look into the same thing. If you grab a couple of credits early, it can also ease pressure. I had to withdraw one semester with mono, and the summer classes I had taken made... |
