Some real-life guys in the past, which was way embarrassing. Some famous people. Had a big John Lennon thing going from about 11-16. These days, Kurt Cobain. I just feel such a strong connection to him and to his music. (I know a lot of people out there say that, but usually they're teenagers, and I... |

Sad to hear about this happening. I'm interested in the Lushootseed language (xWhul'shut'sid, as it's more accurately pronounced) of the Coast Salish tribes. Thankfully this one isn't quite that far gone, and has a fair number of groups trying to revive it round the Puget Sound area. Here's one of t... |

1. Old porcelain dolls and the ball-jointed type are creepy in a pleasantly spooky kind of way, but what really freaks me out are those hyper-real baby dolls some women collect - the ones that have realistic skin texture and weight and some of them even appear to breathe . (I watched a documentary a... |

Who would you choose to meet? Which year would you travel back to? And, what would you like to do? (If you only feel like answering one of the questions above that's fine to) Philip K. Dick 1981 Mostly just talk about Science Fiction in general or some of his views on Religion especially Taoism. Ri... |

We've stayed at this place a couple of times. It's cosy, not too expensive, and just over the road from to the Seattle Center, so about a ten minute bus ride into town. http://www.innatqueenanne.com/ I've been to Seattle four times now, and the buses do indeed strike me as pretty good. If you're goi... |

A narcissist really, truly changing and developing empathy is as rare as a pig growing wings. You deserve better. Please leave him before he screws you up again. |

We once got on a bus in Seattle and there were four young guys in the back seats. They were all dressed head to foot in black leather and wearing KISS makeup, and as the bus pulled away they all started beatboxing. That was weird but fun. |

Well...unsurprisingly, Kurt Cobain. In Seattle, in the late summer of 1991, before Nevermind came out, during a smack-free interval (he didn't take it all the time back then) and when his stomach wasn't playing up. I'd like to just bum around town with him and go thrift store shopping, then go back ... |

Songs can communicate the same emotion regardless of whether you speak the same language as the singer, so it must be the music doing the communicating. There's a book - The Singing Neanderthals by Prof. Stephen Mithen - which claims that music was in some ways the forerunner of language. Interestin... |

Kurt Cobain? I think we've had this discussion before, probably several times. He was diagnosed with ADHD and put on Ritalin as a child, and I recall reading that he might have had bipolar (there seems to have been a history of it in his family), but there's no conclusive evidence for his having be... |

It saddens me that this came about because of yet another bastardization of what Grunge "style" (an absence of style and fashion consciousness) it's supposed to mean. Exactly. Every so often, the stuff I buy in thrift stores is suddenly available in hideously overpriced versions in stores where the... |
