When I was in school they moved me up and down and had no clue what was "wrong" with me because there was no AS in the 60's! And when I dropped out of high school and got one of the highest scores they had ever seen on the state GED test (which I completed more than two hours before time was up) th... |

Couple things: You don't sound all that inhuman. Many of your concerns sound like those of any 23 year old. I am 42 now, but at 23.... I could have sounded much like that. You will learn as you go that work is not usually the best place to meet people with whom to date. Bars are bad too.... but at l... |

Colbert was ignorant. That's the whole point of his show. His whole schtick is to make fun of Bill O'Reilly and Sean Hannity. The analogy to O'Reilly and Hannity is most clear when Colbert throws water at guests. The only reason that I stopped was Rush. I understand Colbert's lowbrow schtick and I ... |

I'm confused; was it 35 years since 1) they were in America? (not likely...;) 2) on the Colbert report (who knows?) hey, as long as they're still around...;) I was confused by the 35 years thing and I guess it is just an exaggeration. I personally laid eyes on them here in Ohio in 1985. That was 23... |

Volga German on my dads side, from both his parents. On my moms mothers side, they were Germans from around Bremen, and moms dad was a germanic pole. Volga German on my Dad's side too. Rothammel specifically. (We think that Dad's side is the Apergers side.) Sure seems to be alot of Germans on this ... |

I don't mind it as an adult with many years of practiced coping skills behind me. It sucked when I was a kid. Like any "monster" that any of us on this earth deal with.... once you put your monster on a leash... and make it work for you... it doesn't seem like the enemy anymore. (Raise your hand if ... |

Hello Glue. I am a newbie, but not so new to Dads and living with the traits. I think that some of your issues may be regular Dad stuff... and maybe some is AS. As far as feeling pressure to act now that you have learned a name for what might be a syndrome that your Dad lives with: I am with Simon B... |

Hello, I am a very high functioning person who always knew he was just a little bit different. Not too much. But surely different. (42 year old.) One day a few years ago, working in the health care environment (philanthropy, not medical) I started learning about ASD. Certain things jumped out. Sensi... |
