I'm new here, and afraid this will make me quite unpopular but why should WP be any different from the rest of the world, right? Coming from a group of people who are accustomed to being judged and ostracized by the ignorant masses, I'm disappointed by all the venom I'm seeing spewed at Savage also ...

I think it will be clearer if you just look at your ultimate goal. If your ultimate goal is to be comfortable in the house and you are most comfortable on your own, then don't torture yourself trying to play the game and just do what you need to do. There's no sense in putting yourself through stres...

I participated in stage plays all thoughout my school years and always expected that I would have stage fright. The auditions terrified me, rehearsal was awful, the makeup chair was nearly unbearable, but on opening night I could casually get up there and do my thing -- and yet that surprised me eve...

My question is, could the sound of our forks hitting our plates or us eating be bothering him??? Absolutely. Not just the sound of forks, but chewing and all those lovely smacking/sloshing sounds that go along with it -- and in less polite circles, the garbled talking-with-food-in-mouth, too. There...

Before I had cats to wake me up, I used a zen alarm clock (made by Now & Zen). I'd recommend it to anyone who's a light sleeper and prefers to wake gradually. It's just a single chime (although the mechanical click before the chime usually wakes me up) that goes off once, then again three minute...

my question to you late-diagnosed AS members is: do you find it difficult to let go of anger related to being misunderstood for your entire life? YES. I was diagnosed eight years ago and still tend to get angry about my earlier years. I'm angry with my mother for her constant criticism and complete...

Update: I finally got into the rdos aspie quiz - I had to scrub my cookies first, apparently there was something in there that conflicted with the site.

I scored Aspie - 155 of 200
NT - 54 of 200

I enjoy taking these quizzes, but they can be frustrating. I think many of the statements are too vague. For example, "I find it hard to do more than one thing at once." Well, I can type 55 WPM and sing at the same time, which I've been told is odd (although I can't play piano and sing at the same t...
