1. see the word. So much so that I often don't get a pun, cos I'm seeing two different words in my head. 2. to the right (my right as I look at the door) I knew within 2-3 seconds I had a relatively clear picture (as good as 1970s TV biut then my hallway is a little dim) Good luck with your survey! ... |

Thank you - this thread has been very reassuring to me. As usual, I feel less of a freak having read what you have to say. Maybe that will be one less thing to think about now.... |

I thought - used to think - that people who said they didn't think all the time were lying. Being smug. Saying that I was trying to sound special and too clever- by-half. Till I started to realise that I have AS. And, I have to disagree with a lot of you, to me thinking all the time is easily the ab... |

No velcro when I was in Primary School! Only astronauts had it. So I wore sandshoes with elastic. This officially makes you so stupid and useless that it becomes legal to bully you. I can tie laces now. But can't wear lace-up shoes anyway because they make my feet feel odd.So I wasted time learning ... |

Yes, I don't always "get" puns easily if the two words involved are spelt differently because I can "see" that they're not the same word. When I was very little, I thought of numbers and days of the week as having personalities and colours and things. Apart from 7 being Australian and Thursday being... |

As it looked like an acted expression rather than a natural one, I don't see how it could help anyone learn anything about real facial expressions. It was a bit like on "Friends" when Joey is showing what a versatile actor he is by shivering exaggeratedly saying "I'm cooooold" or miming a beard to b... |

I say it ALL THE TIME and have been really told off about this. I was irritated with someone who wouldn't say sorry to me when they were wrong and pointed out that I would always apologise, to which he replied "Yes but you just do it automatically". This really made me think. I realised that I don't... |

Although I would agree that I don't like to talk on the phone (but could happily text for hours), I seem to have a different reason from the rest of you posting. I can understand the other person but am convinced when phoning someone new that they won't understand me. I spend ages thinking about how... |

Yes yes yes. Autumn is totally the best. But not for morbid reasons, I don't think, in my case. Wistful maybe. Or poignant. But not morbid. I teach and the only great thing about going back to work this week is thinking about Autumn: black tights, boots, jumpers, scarves. and, of course, leaves, mis... |

I worry about this sometimes because I don't have official diagnosis and don't know how to get one/whether I want one (especially the latter). And I fear that I'm "making it up" even though reading/researching/talking about/visiting this website on AS has been like seeing my reflection in a mirror f... |

I'm so happy to read that others do this as much as I do!! I'm a teacher and, at parents' evenings, often change my accent five or six times to match the person I'm talking to. Occasionally I get paranoid thinking they'll be comparing notes later. "She's Scottish!" "No, you fool, she's clearly from ... |
