I'm probably older than most of the posters and I thought the various strategies I'd learned over the years would skew the result. That is, I thought I'd have answered some of the questions differently years ago. But.....I guess not. What bothers me is the somewhat bland advice that I "need to work ... |

Motion Picture projectionist. My job for decades. No NT wants the job because it involves odd hours, no breaks and the person is pretty much stuck in the projection room all alone with ten or more projectors to tend. For me it was the perfect job. I could go downstairs to the concession stand and co... |

As I look back on my life I'm truly amazed at how many sociopaths I've been friends with. OK, so 5% of the population is supposedly sociopathic but far more than 5% of the people I have known well fit the profile. In fact at no time in the last 30 years did I not have a close aquaintance, employee o... |

Supposedly scientists are always open to new ideas and data and ask for proof when they are introduced. Yet the whole climate issue seems dominated by emotion rather than reason. If I don't believe global warming or climate change or "man-made" change is altogether correct as presented I become a "d... |

How about Dexter? At least in the first few eps. Then they started modifying his personality so they could pursue a love interest sub-plot. Initially he clearly stated that he had little or no interest in emotional relationships. He maintained his relations with his girlfriend because she too had pr... |

I think my standards are different than the general NT public. Example; Steven Seagal is, in my opinion, a good actor so long as he plays an individual who shows little emotion. All his "business" with the martial arts moves, make him convincing to me in those parts. If he were to play a great lover... |

Once you know what you are it is likely you will try to learn "proper" NT traits so long as they further your agenda. I had to learn a lot of "correct" responses to hold the job I wanted and it worked. So I wonder, are we better off than NTs who pick up stuff along the way, bit by bit. We, after all... |

Sam from Benny & Joon. Shy, aloof, outcast, obsession with old movies and quotes lines from them and acts them out. Is preoccupied with it. Is also literal. Good candidate but I think this character might have been intended, right from the start, to be AS, not someone who turned out that way wi... |

I got that all the time when I was a kid. Teachers and relatives always told me I didn't care/like/respect others. And that made me a Bad Boy who should change his ways. Eventually I began to use lines and business from movies that I felt a "caring" person would use. Sometimes the results were deadl... |

Not characters specifically written to have AS but characters who have been given traits which suggest AS even though the screenplay author never thought much about it. Consider: many writers build characters using bits of real people they have met. As a result they may create characters which are l... |

Did you ever see "They Live" with Roddy Piper? When he discovered aliens had brainwashed the entire world with bs he said "Well! It figures it'd be something like that!"
Thats how I felt. |

In high school, decades ago, they still had "commando gym" a 5 day a week program started in WWII. School board just never got around to killing it. It was a gift to the bozo instructors: they would make us drill for 10 minutes and then it was "go play basketball" or if the weather was good, "go pla... |

I got a relatively low aspie score (117) and a NT of 80. Other quizzes I've taken put me off the chart. I wonder if everyone interprets the questions as the quiz author intended? I know I've taught myself to act more and more NT as the years have passed, mostly by remembering and imitating scenes fr... |
