This model is good for press, to demonstrate certain advantages, but I'm detecting discrimination here. Why can't an NT have the job if they can do it the same? (Not likely, but they should get the chance.) It should all be based upon individual qualifications, regardless of diagnosis. That would b... |

There are quite a few companies in Scandinavia now that mimic this model actually. I know several in Sweden. Some of them are only-for-Asperger which is sad: saying *HF folks only* is kind of counterproductive to the original idea. But Thorkil's attitude is awesome. Specialisterne have serious expan... |

I just had this eureka moment. Am I wrong?
I think that, since people become more and more dependant on the internet while internet itself becomes more and more overwhelmingly complex, "information managers" might have a good market in the future. |

Neil Young's "heart of gold" sounds like a very aspie-licious lyric to me. That song is sort of one of his "greatest hits", although Neil Young is not a "greatest hits" kind of musician, he is just extremely talented at making emotionally meaningful and friendly-sounding music. This kind of thing is... |

I have that kind of moment sometimes, usually there comes out a stream of nonsense, of similar sounding or meaning words to the one I can't recall properly. Then I take a deep breath and start over. Some of my friends find it quite funny. |

With every member of society being unique comes the consequence that people have different ways and level of functioning in different areas. It's relative: Unless every person is exactly the same, unless people lacks any talent or strength, then some people will be worse than others in certain areas... |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmDzoVYAfEg Autism Speaks comparing autism to aids, and at the same time inviting Wrongplanet to their website. But why on earth would she invite autistics to an "autism site" that has forums for parents, siblings, relatives and seemingly everybody EXCEPT autistics, of... |

Whatever you hear from Autism Squeaks, you should remember that the organisation has made several of its leading members millionaires. Alison had a salary of 180 000 $ when she worked for Autism Squeaks, a handful of other directors had twice as much. "Non-profit" my ass. They sometimes say good thi... |

Some of them are disabilities, but far from all. |

Sorry, but that doesn't even make sense...unless he is such a sucker for a pretty face (or similar) that he becomes blind to everything else. Because he sees men with Asperger's and their spouses in person at his clinic. As a doctor, he will be impartial and objective, and take both sides into acco... |

Exactly what would it do? Would it remove the disabilities and leave the rest? I find the idea of "curing" disability very silly, especially with these kind of things: boost people's attention-span/communication skill/social skill/academic intelligence, and you won't have less disability in the worl... |

The stuff and traits they have put together to criterias and began to call "autism" or "asperger" is part of natural human variation. Whatever they choose to call it, it will still be there. Note as well that it's about traits that you have, not symptoms from a condition.(altough they call it a cond... |
