Happens to me all the time, and to NT's I think.

If you ask someone what you were talking about in a conversation five minutes ago it's likely they wont remember. At least not right at once.

I'll be doing Nano this year. First time so I've no idea if I'll finish or not. It looks like fun and it's been a while since I wrote anything very long. I'll be blogging the whole thing as I write it here: http://www.krishstories.blogspot.com/ Are any of you guys doing the same, because I'd be inte...

I've come across this question on various forms, but never encountered an actual 'autistic spectrum' box. I'm not sure what I would do really. You'd have to think about whether ticking it would likely make things easier or harder for you - which depends a lot on the type of job.

I have trouble ending conversations as well. It' hard to know what to say to end it.

"I have to go . . ." Sounds pretty good. Just have to hope they don't ask why.

Year seven was a pretty bad year for me. Being the youngest pupils year sevens were the targets for the rest of the school and were subject to a whole lot of casual violence on a day to day basis. This included being herded into the corner of a classroom and having chairs thrown at us, being threate...

Maximum of tree; anymore and I fnd it impossible to know when I can speak, so end up not saying anything. Also with three (rather than two) you don't have to maintain eye contact with the same person the whole time.

I'm not a big fan of phones. Mainly because the person isn't there in front of me, so I can't play off thier reactions and emotions, and I can never quite work out if it's my turn to speak.

Also I hate making phone calls because I feel like I'm . . . intruding or something.

Just wondering if anyone here plays paintball? I know it doesn't sound like the kind of thing that aspie's would enjoy, but I've been a couple of times and I was quite surprised. For the record I hate most sports: especially things like soccer and basketball. Paintball's different though: First of a...

Like someone else said before me, don't try too hard to get into a relationship. Just try talking to her naturally and getting to know her. Usually things just sort of . . . happen.

I do this too. If I want to talk someone I get thier attention by saying 'hi' or something similar, never by saying thier name. I don't know why either, but if I do have to mention someone's name it just feels so . . . awkward, y'know? Sometimes I even sort of burt out the name really quickly just t...

I find it hard to determine what counts as a friend. At a guess I'd say five or six. We're good friends, in that we've known each other for a long time, or get on well, but we're not particularly close. I don't really hang out with them much like other people do, but that's fine because they know I'...

I used to be a little afraid of fire alarms, simply because of the volume.

At high school though people would set them off to get out of lessons at least once or twice a week, so I got used to them.

Hello everyone. I've been browsing these forums for a while and finally decided to join. I'm seventeen and at college in England. I'm fairly sure I have some degree of AS. Most of the time i can pass for normal with a little effort, but I still have trouble with that whole "Conversation" thing. I ha...
