I've never experienced 'bouts of severe paranoia' either. The biggest problem is that they actually wrote that Aspergers causes paranoia. Good idea to contact the news organisation, though I don't know if they will listen.

See http://www.news.com.au/national/police-taser-12-year-old-ipswich-boy-suffering-mental-disorder-who-was-armed-with-meat-cleaver/story-e6frfkvr-1226127422146 The way they describe Aspergers is really dodgy. I quoted the worst bit below. "A 12-year-old boy with a serious and frightening mental diso...

68/72. The ony part I got red was the part about synesthesia, which is funny since I actually have it, but only with people and personalities. They didn't ask for that  What's not funny is that although I pressed the skip button on posting my results, my recent activity page still said I star...

"If you have problems in these areas you are unlikely to see it and therefore can't answer the questions." True to a very limited point - ie. unless a person is quite severe and/or VERY isolated from the rest of the world then they WILL know that they have issues in the relevant areas either from p...

I don't want people on facebook to know I might have AS. Shame, I was curious to find out my score. I very much dislike how you are forced or tricked into sharing all this random information on facebook that you don't want to, if it wasn't for trying to keep up with a few people I wouldn't have one...

61/72. I identified more with this test than with any others I've done. My red ones are - vi) A tendency toward literal interpretation of verbal communication and of the behavior of others. v) Possesses some form of synesthesia - the tendency to experience one form of sensory or conceptual experienc...

Thanks syzygyish and aussiebloke. *grins* Glad you like the name. Both Sophie and Sophia mean wisdom. I recently checked the meaning of my son's name, Connor and it means lover of hounds. Odd meaning for a name, but he does really like our dog, so perhaps it is appropriate. :) I have heard of some w...

We are all doing well though, even though sleep is not something I'm getting much of. ok is there any girls who are 17-20 who live on the gold coast? i am trying to make f...

Sounds like data mining to me. To use app you need to allow it access to all your personal data then you tell them even more personal info whereupon they tell you something you probably already knew/suspected to take test in first place. Sounds dodgy to me. Facebook says that for all Apps, I don't ...

Hi all. Thought you might be interested in this Facebook AS Test. It's a new one. The Test is here - http://apps.facebook.com/specastest It's obviously not diagnostic, but I think it's a better test than others I've seen and gives an understanding of what sorts of things people on the spectrum strug...

Thankyou very much bjcirceleb. Your information is really helpful. I didn't know you needed to have a mental illness to be referred to a psychologist. I had previously been diagnosed with depression and anxiety, so that makes a little more sense why I was able to access the GP Mental Health Plan. I ...

I believe Tony Attwood lives there. He might still do diagnoses. Minds and Hearts is Tony Attwood's clinic. It's where I was diagnosed, but it seems that the costs have gone up since then. Also it's difficult to get a GP to refer you to there as most of them have never heard of the clinic or of Asp...

Hi everyone. My little sister is looking to try to get a diagnosis, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any psychiatrists or psychologists who have actually diagnosed people with Aspergers around the Brisbane area? Australia that is. :) I know there is the Minds and Hearts clinic but I just looked...
