Yes, I would have tried this BUT it is an extended release pill. If you cut or chew it, all the medicine would be released and could have an ill effect on someone, especially a kiddo! I am an RN, so I did know this much, but thanks for the suggestion... I just wish it would have been able to be done... |

This would be Jelibean's favorite topic. Is she making money off of sales? She is a VERY strong advocate. ANYWAY, you can read some of her comments in this thread: http://www.wrongplanet.net/postt78121.html Is that the thread you found the reference in? Same as with anything. Just because it's "nat... |

I read a few things about this 'vitamin' last night as I found it on one of these posts and looked further into it. I read where it is a good alternative to medicine and is good for AS. I can't for the life of me find what this pill looks like, and if my son would be able to even get it down. I'm mo... |

I totally believe that lifestyle plays an important role. We are both working parents, and I have noticed a difference in Carson since I've been working, but what can ya do these days? Both parents have to work in order to make a living. I only work part time (which is 2 12hr night shifts), so that ... |

I honeslty consider medication a LAST resort, LAST resort for kids. I do agree, and maybe I did jump to medicine too quickly, but when there are so many little things that you just can't figure out how to remedy, medicine always comes up. I am no longer giving him the Concerta (mainly b/c he can't g... |

I've tried every single ADHD drug on the market. Didn't work. What weight is he? I went up to the max dose with concerta XL 100mg I think it was. He is 7 years old and 48lbs. He's little. I am thinking about asking for Zoloft for him. It is somewhat mild, and a whole hell of a lot cheaper! Anyone e... |

Well, I'm not trying to sell it. I do know better. Wish I could though! I am going to be contacting the manufacturer to see if there is anything I can do. Can you tell me, if Aspergers Syndrome is the case, what medication you are giving/taking for it? What have you tried in the past? THANKS!! :) |

As far as organization goes, I have helped him clean up his room before and he has such a sigh of relief after I get done! I think it makes him feel a lot better, but he just refuses to do much to help. I know this is probably hard for him, but it's aggravating at the same time. I always try to help... |

My son has recently been prescribed a doubled dose of Concerta (36mg) and this doubled the size of the pill!! He has a super sensitive gag reflex anyway, so this is not a good situation. He got the 18mg pills down with some pudding with no problems, but this morning (after him being able to get down... |

My daughter is ADHD but watching her diet and getting her plenty of exercise worked quite well. I did also work hard to teach her how to work effectively even with her impulsive behavior and short attention span. She tried working in an office once, as an adult, but she still can't do anything sede... |

Thank you so much for all of your input. In response to some of your questions... He does remember the incident, and he remembers exactly what toy he wanted. I haven't asked much more, I try not to remember it! Also, he can TOTALLY concentrate on things that he is interested in. I've been told that ... |

My son, Carson, is 7 years old. We have been in the process of getting a diagnosis. The school social worker suggested Aspergers, so I looked into it. So many things fit him, but several didn't. Since then, I've researched even further, and with my fingers crossed, he may just have a mild case. He h... |
