How do you manage to give your significant other enough attention (and not nominal attention, but actual interest ) when a new obession takes over? My relationships have a way of becoming like an exoskeleton that eventually becomes too rigid when something else comes along. I am NOT talking about a... |

Fnord is pretty much dead on. The deviant crowd is much more accepting. I spent my time in such crowds while in high school. None of the Emo and Goth, but the metal/death metal type of people in the early to mid 90's. Makes me feel old thinking back that far. |

I've been working in IT doing Desktop Administration and support for 13 years and have to deal with people on a regular basis. Unlike the 2 of you, I do not particularly like people (the whole shallowness thing drives me crazy as well). But on the other hand I'm impartial and do like meeting people ... |

I guess technically I am self-diagnosed. However, next Thursday I will complete the evaluation process (at my expense). I simply need to know that my whole effed-up life isn't just because I'm the emotionally detached overly analytical a-hole arrogant elitist people tend to think I am. Either I'm a... |

I chose to be evaluated last week because I wanted to be certain and not guess. Now I can work to improve upon my life because I've a starting point instead of just assuming I know. Also, I was diagnosed with disthymia which I never would have known about without the evaluation. Great evaluation and... |

I've told my boss and parents, that is all. My mother will probably tell everyone for me even though I don't want anyone else to know. |

I can have a family because of my wife. She is very NT and takes care of everything, otherwise I'd be in the same mindset as some of you. Had I been diagnosed earlier and realized my limited capabilities children never would have happened. |

I'm 100% science as well. Math was great up through college level algebra, I struggled but had great grades. Couldn't do anything with Trig or Calc no matter what. |

I had a terrible time with children, and just avoided them. They would stare and drive me nuts and on top of that I had no idea how to interact with them. Once I had my own it became much easier since I got to start at the ground floor and grow with him. I can interact with children around 3 and unde... |

This past Monday I was diagnosed Asperger's. This has been a life changing event. While growing up I always thought of myself as relatively "normal" with a few odd quirks, a bit overly shy and having a few eccentricities (yes, I see it now) I've managed to live on my own from the age of 19, get marr... |
