Yes but I think it's some kind of a nervous stress relief. It sure feels good though, as long as I can figure out how to explain it to the people staring at me. ;-)

My problem is coming across to weakly or far too strongly when standing up for myself. I don't know what a healthy normal limit looks like based on each individual situation and if I really take the time to think it all through suddenly it is night time and the dis-respector is long gone.

No I'm not seeking a recipe here. I'm wondering for someone like me who works at home and moved a year ago, how do you make new friends - what things can you join and what do you say to get to know someone better, when is it the right time to invite someone from a group setting to do something one o...

What are some good, low stress part time jobs (don't give me places please but specific things such as "Stock person" etc) for someone with Asperger's?

I hate leaving messages. I sound ret*d when I do that because I do pauses and I stumble over words because I have to think up of how to leave a message. Most of the times, I just hang up. But when I leave one, I am very hard to understand so I have to talk slowly and don't forget the machine someti...

I prefer answering machines to answering people ;p if I'm calling a friend I would usually leave them a lengthy message just talking about random crap, usually until I get disconnected, so about 20 minutes lol when I call someone with some business I just say my name, my number and what it was I wa...

For me it's kleenex actually. That and Saran type wrap (the generic stuff is more plasticy than clingy so I use it when I have to) and silky feeling things. I could nearly throw up when I have to touch kleenex or saran, especially balled up used saran. I've gagged many times and people just look at ...

I'm getting tested for asperger's (adult) in January. Just wondering, what will they do? I know there are questions or something but are there things like in the IQ test (which I had years ago) or other tasks I'll have to do. I'd rather know (if I have AS and also how the testing will be) than not k...

We have had people here in the past saying we don't have it and one time we had a member here who came and kept saying lot of us don't have it. That person sounds like a dum dum alright. I guess in that case the unsaid is that someone makes up something like this for attention? I dunno but I don't ...

Pfft. I don't think you did necessarily offend. I took it as a literal question that each person could answer in their own way. Nobody was forced to (I imagine). I've found it interesting too.

I am self-diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome. I am self-dianogsed too but I read that other disorders (DISORDERS????! !! !!) can have similar type symptoms, and people with low self esteem and poor social skills can seem to have Asperger's, so I talked to my Dr who arranged for a referral to find o...

When I say 'I love you' to people I don't feel that I actually do. It's just words to me. When I do feel love for someone it's harder to say because I'm not sure if that person feels the same way and to save myself the embarrassment I don't say it. As for cards I draw a heart as if saying love. Act...

Do you? I do. I also can't stand saying it. I feel wildly weird and uncomfortable when I do, or if I write Love, myname and then the other person doesn't sign off the same. I also have a thing where some names are REALLY hard for me to say out loud. I have no idea why. Am I a freak alone or are you...
