I get this way sometimes but it is almost always during an emotional meltdown. It seems to stem from really needing the other person to understand what I am saying -- not "winning" the debate/argument seems to me to mean that they just don't understand logic or hear what I am saying. Once I cool off...

If you have to buy it then it is not friendship. I would offer up the riches of my soul (and I have)to a true friend and hope that they would share themselves as deeply. I think finding a friend is an amazing grace and then it is up to us to do what we can to nurture that friendship.
