I've just discovered how it feels to be bitch-slapped by Vista after several months of applauding its stability :? Here goes, Last night I tried to repartition my hard disk to give Vista more space, something I have done a hundred times before without incident. Instead of a neatly partitioned hard d...

I pursued my diagnosis independantly. I found out about AS in 2001 which coincided in my parents telling me that I was observed in the classroom by a psychologist at the age of 4 because of what the teachers termed 'asocial behaviour'. Suffice to say nothing was diagnosed (this being before AS was o...

I have to agree with most of the posts in that I feel that my AS is both a blessing and a curse. The most beneficial aspect of my AS is the focus I can give my special interests. This has enabled me to get a degree in a subject that I love. I also enjoy the somewhat unique perspective on humanity th...

I realised this a while ago now and think it's meant to be common in Aspies. It's like my mind never stops thinking, I can't seem to switch off. I'm always thinking about anything and everything no matter what I'm doing or meant to be doing...................... Anyone else find this? Yep, I've had...

I would say that my social skills have not improved since I was 12 and even then I was socially immature in relation to my peers.

I was diagnosed when I was 21 although I was observed by a psychologist in a classroom setting at age 5 because of my (and I quote) 'asocial behaviour'. I certainly do wish that I was formally diagnosed at an early age as my school years were a nightmare and I had no support whatsoever.

I'm a 27 year old aspie atheist. I discounted religious belief when I was 8 years old and despite enduring a few existential dilemmas in my ealy teens my (lack of) belief has never wavered!

I was diagnosed with AS and comorbid social phobia . Social situations are still only marginally more tolerable than at the time of my diagnosis.

I used to believe that an item which was described as having falling of the back of a truck was a literal statement (and not a euphemism for stolen goods). I was unaware of the true meaning of this statement until I was 20 :?

I think that AS is irrelevant to the vast majority of NT's. Most of them don't even know what Aspergers let alone care.
