Personally prefer free weights. But only when there's a partner with me. Otherwise I stay on the machines. I've several weakened joints I'd rather not re-injure, so I'm very conservative when it comes to my own programme.

handstand pushups - If you are young and healthy, that is. Support your feet on a wall and be sure to get good depth. This will more evenly load the anterior and posterior heads of your shoulder, which pushups do not do. jumping lunges - Get down into a lunge, jump up, switch your feet, and land. R...

Technique, technique, technique. Yes, squats DO increase the ass :D , but it very much depends on your body type. Put it this way. Squats utilize the same muscles as moving between sitting and standing. If squats give you a big butt, then EVERYONE will have a big butt because we all sit and stand. S...

Who else could win the Tour de France as many times as he did?

But have you heard/read about his diet? The guy eats a TON! (Okay, I know that I average about 2000kcals a day myself, a lot for someone who's 5'2" and barely 130 pounds, but still...)

Oh yeah, got plenty of guys come out to me asking to build their arms, and get confused/angry when I take them to do squats instead.

I'm happy to say that those who DO follow my advice got what they wanted and those who don't...well, I gave them a second chance. With double the intensity

Can't make sense of it. Plastic beads, leggings, gypsy skirts, dingly-dangly bracelets....AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!! !! ! Fashion stores seem to make clothes for women with a) no boobs, b) no hips, c) no butt. Which means...you need to be a man to wear those clothes :P Kidding. One of my male friends has a ...

Get more "sky juice" (slang in my country for water), better than artificially-sweetened-and-coloured junk anyday... ... :? Why do Westerners in general seem to LOVE artificial sweeteners? My UK and US friends wouldn't touch a teaspoon of sugar, but can happily dump 3-4 packets of man-made chemicals...

I leave a day for the muscles to grow because muscles store calories so help people get thinner. Actually, muscles BURN calories, thus making people get thin. FAT STORES calories, thus making people get...fatter. Just a tiny detail. Hm, diet's almost all right. Certainly a lot healthier than...

Just to build-up (no pun intended) on what beef_bourito had said.... Yes, to burn fat it's recommended you work on your bigger muscle groups. More muscle used=more energy needed=more calories burned, get it? The largest are the legs, followed by the back, the chest, the 'core' or abdominals, the sho...

I agree with beef_bourito, macushla and pensieve. Let's start with the drinks. As the above three mentioned, these drinks often have unhealthy amounts of 'quick-fix' stimulants such as caffeine and sugar (a certain brand with a red bovine on its can was banned in several countries due to unhealthy l...

I had been working as a professional personal trainer for a few years, and routinely give blood pressure tests for my clients. So here's what I'd learned from my ACE course, and how I explain about blood pressure to my clients. Systolic pressure regularly goes up and down. Systolic pressure is a mea...
